Has there been any criticism of Obama’s no-show from the French government? Any snippy leaked comments? I don’t think I’ve seen any so far. You would think such a monumental snub, if were indeed a snub, would have the French letting their displeasure be known through the press. I think that in fact neither Hollande nor Obama wanted Obama to be there, for their own leftist reasons.
I can understand his ambivalence about the march. It seems to me though that Eric Holder, could have gone, given he was in the same city! This was intentional. Not sure why besides the obvious muslim sympathies angle. It could be he is ticked off he is a lame duck, and is just thumbing his nose at the world.
Murdering infidels is not “big stuff” for a Moslem president. It is ho-hum everyday stuff.

A real leader of the West would have declined to go because the march, in reality, is an empty gesture devoid of any real action behind the symbolism. Islamic terrorism exists in large part because the very leaders staging the march have done nothing tangible to stop it, but have encouraged it by doing nothing and have tolerated mass immigration into enclaves that have purposefully NOT assimilated into Western culture. Obama’s attendance would have highlighted the fact that he has enthusiastically repeated the mistakes of other world leaders within the borders of our country. Additionally, he has aided and abetted the terrorists by “losing the peace” in Iraq and Afghanistan, and has essentially turned over large bases of operation to the terrorists for their use.
Obama was afraid to attend because he feared that the media would truthfully evaluate his own record on Islamic terrorism. Such a truthful evaluation of his record, in my opinion, should be a threat to the continuation of his Presidency.

In short, he doesn't want to deal with reality and does want to weave a web of illusion, which is nothing new for this disgrace of an administration. The media, however, know a juicy story when they see one and aren't spiking the thing. This public disconnect that we're seeing isn't anything new, what's new is that we're seeing it.
