A key senator said Sunday she believes there are terrorist sleeper cells in the U.S. that could carry out attacks similar to the ones in France that left 17 people dead last week.

Sen Dianne Feinstein, California Democrat and vice chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, did not comment on specific threats against America but said other attacks are possible.

Do you think she secretly keeps one of those in her bedroom for protection?

She’s definitely powermad, but she was pretty much at the top of the heap in SF and really didn’t have to climb much at all.

She was very good (by SF standards) and supported Bush and Jewish causes on many occasions. I think she should have retired at her high point, but she didn’t and then became an Obama tool.

The real estate husband is part of it, but she was pretty good (for a Dem) for a number of years after that. She only got really bad after the election of Bambi and the gang. Before that, she was considered to be a “conservative Democrat.”

That’s true. I’m so nauseated by the fact that Obama not only didn’t go to the rally in Paris but didn’t even send a representative. How much more do we need before we acknowledge that he’s an anti-Semitic Muslim leftist?

The problem is all of us here realize that, but for the leftist world it appears they are not in agreement.

I guess they’re sleeper cells of extreme extremists.

Evidently, they have categories and leaders, and different size terrorist cells.

I think we’d deal much better with a Mumbai-style attack than the Indians did, but that would be simply a matter of the attack lasting hours rather than days, and deaths hopefully in the dozens instead of hundreds.

Depends upon where it is. Boston? San Francisco? Chicago? Easy. Oklahoma City, Salt Lake City, Dallas, not so much.

Adults with concealed carry permits by state: MA - 4.7% CA - .12%. IL - .34%. OK - 6.6%. UT - 9.7%. TX - 3.7%.

http://crimepreventionresearchcenter.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Concealed-Carry-Permit-Holders-Across-the-United-States.pdf

MA isn’t particularly good evidence for your case, having more CCW permits than TX. Some other states that you wouldn’t think of in this regard: IN - 10.8%. CT - 7.3%. PA - 8.7%. MS - 2.8%.

I’ve been unable to find any stats on how many people with permits actually carry at any given time, or if that varies by locations.

A CC weapon is a great deal better than nothing, but it’s a poor choice for engaging in combat against trained men with military weapons.

True, but a CC weapon will likely slow them down, buying time for innocents to escape and for police response before too many people get killed.

A Mumbai or Beslan type attack is generally not going to be stopped by CCW guys. It will take SWAT or Army, who will hopefully get there fast.

Not disagreeing, simply noting that unless CCW types walk around fully armed with ARs and lots of ammo, guns in the hands of private citizens won’t prevent such an attack.
