Romney or Bush: Who would you prefer if you had to choose for 2016 nomination? And Why?

Posted on 01/10/2015 7:43:45 AM PST by inchworm

I'd take Romney. He seems more like he is learning, understanding, and trying to be more conservative as the years go on. Bush on the other hand is floating ideas that seem far less conservative to me as the years go on.

However, CRUZ IS MY TOP CHOICE!!! Go CRUZ!

Worth repeating

no more bushes....EVER.. and mcromney can go to hell.... looks like libertarian party in ‘16

So you complain about rinos, but want to switch to the party platform that is officially so open borders that it wants to end the INS and the Border Patrol, is officially full term pro-abortion, and for gay marriage, gays in the military, adoption, weak on defense, and for much of the most disgusting elements of the left?

Wouldn't a write in be less radically leftist than switching to that?

Romney helped inflict homo-marriage onto the country when he was governor. For this, I wish him nothing less than an agonizing death and a prompt journey to hell. He was the first GOP candidate in my entire voting life, big office or small, to not get my vote.

Jeb Bush is an open-borders, pro-amnesty traitor. Who himself is now cozying up to homo-marriage, proving what a worthless degenerate he is as well.

So, I can’t even play the hypothetical game with these two.

Anybody but Bush & Romney.

Fist, the US is not a kingdom to be ruled by ruling families of Bush and Clinton. It is unlike India, which has elections but a history of electing a certain family most of the time. Jeb Bush might be the greatest of all candidates, but this Country needs to have upward mobility and to avoid a ruling class that is passed down from father to son or wife.

Second Romney would have been far better that the Big Zero, who is now our President. However, the media has all their special evil stories ready for him. The 2016 election will be the dirtiest election in the history of the US with the most mud every slung. That in my opinion is why Hillary will not run, as between cattle futures, Rose Law firm billing, Whitewater, etc. she has a lot to keep hidden and Obama has no desire to help her cover things up.

So let's get some fresh blood with real leadership ideas into the Republican party. And for God's sake tell John McCain to shut up.

He saved the Olympics and beat every other republican candidate in 2012. Your facts are in question. Hate him if you want but misrepresentation ought to be left with the progressives.

Walker is my choice.

My choice would be Romney. Most have no idea who the man is and have relied on junk blogs and the likes.

That post tells me that you know nothing about Mitt Romney.

Romney is far worse than most people know, he is extraordinarily bad, so bad that he does not even belong in republican politics.

Why do you think that Romney left the GOP because of Reagan? Why do you think that Romney started supporting, fund raising for, and voting democrat and not becoming a republican again until October of 1993, after having to decide which registration would be best for his path to the presidency?

Neither.

Vote Walker.

And Cruz needs to go to the Supreme Court.

Romney v. Jeb Bush reminds me of the South Park episode with the Turd Sandwich versus Giant Douche debate.

Exactly. The GOPe has played "split the conservative vote" successfully since 1996. It is high time we did the same for them.

The bigger problem is Huckabee, whom some actually think is conservative.

Not a single fact of mine is in question and you are always free to question one that you think is.

I notice that you didn’t do that, instead you went to the Winter Olympics (calling them “the Olympics”, and you might want to know that his “saving” was banning the Boy Scouts for their gay position, and hustling up 100s of million dollars of federal money.

Which of these facts do you think is false?

“”He has won a single election in his quarter century of elective politics, and he didn’t reach 50% in that race, he then governed so badly that he had to give up running for reelection, and crept out of that 4 year stint, with 34% approval, being so incompetent that he lost the seat to the democrats, after being the 4th republican governor in a row.

Romney followed that up with hitting the 2008 primary as the 800 pound money gorilla, and losing to Huckabee and McCain, and then spending his way through the 2012 primary to lose a presidential race to Jimmy Carter’s second term when we were on the verge of a depression.

Aside from being a pathological liar “I marched with MLK”, “lifetime hunter” “gun owner”, “I have become pro-life”, “I was not running a sanctuary mansion for 11 years and 2 national scandals” “I longed to serve in Vietnam”, and on and on, the man is an incompetent boob.”

Seems to a catalog of FRs who will not be voting in the next Presidential election if either of the two win the nomination.

Hillary sends her regards. Obama is leering ... the Pew Foundation is polling ... Soros is ordering party supplies ...

I’d take...a pass. 3rd party, or write-in. It would NOT be for ANY lesser-RINO-evils.

Unfortunately, even the better governors, once they hit the National stage, would lurch Leftward and start one-upping the Left for the ‘coveted independent’. If/when I’m proven wrong, they MAY get my vote.

Romney, in his own words.
He supports abortion, homosexual marriage, gun bans, illegal immigration, obamacare/romneycare etc etc etc..

The bigger problem is Huckabee, whom some actually think is conservative.

The bigger problem is Romney.

Huckabee isn't a serious threat of actually winning the primary, and there is a reason that FR had to endorse Huckabee in 2008, it was out of desperation to stop Mitt Romney.

I would not vote for the libertarian, but probably the democrat and here is why.

We have to have a real confrontation with the left to get back this country. There are only so many seats in Congress, and we now have a majority to take them on. Instead of fighting the left, the very first thing the gop did was fight the tea party. Now they are trying to punish them for their vote against Boehner. If we are ever to be able to take on the left, we have to have actual congressmen who are willing to fight them, not work with them, which is exactly what they are doing. The reason for my d vote is to take out as many R’s as possible, and if there is still a country left, replace with solid Conservatives down the road.

Of course an alternative would be a 2nd party, which I am all for. I really think that is the best option, but barring that, I will work to take out of office the people who stabbed me and my fellow patriots in the back.

Unfortunately, too many of us have been fooled for so long, by these people, I am including myself in that statement, that I am afraid time has run out.
