Florida Girl, 5, Was Alive Before Being Thrown From Bridge: Police
Dad Allegedly Throws 5-Year-Old Daughter Off a Bridge NBC NEWS CHANNEL
The Florida toddler found dead after she was tossed from a St. Petersburg bridge was still alive before the fatal 60-foot plunge, police said Friday based on preliminary evidence. At a news conference following Thursday's horrific act, investigators didn't immediately know whether 5-year-old Phoebe Jonchuck was initially alive, and were awaiting the results of a medical examiner's report. A police officer who witnessed the crime allegedly committed by her father, John Jonchuck Jr. said he may have heard the girl scream but wasn't certain.
Police are still trying to piece together what led Jonchuck, 25, to allegedly take his daughter's life. The girl's mother, Michelle Kerr, said despite Jonchuck's "Jekyll and Hyde" personality and their rocky past relationship, she never imagined he would turn his rage toward Phoebe. "She would always say 'I love you' to him," a teary-eyed Kerr told NBC affiliate WFLA. "She loved her daddy."
Phoebe's body was recovered from the Tampa Bay around 1 a.m. Thursday, an hour after a St. Petersburg police officer said he saw Jonchuck hurl the girl over the railing.

That's the problem, crazies are crazy. If they were rational, they wouldn't be crazies.
Now imagine some guy coming off an SSRI the voices in his head told him to stop taking because they'd guide him...
Now imagine his head clearing some day and realizing what he had done...
Every major school shooting and some other noteworthy shootings have involved a shooter who was on some sort of medication.
Who is to say this guy is any different?
I'm not trying to diminish the horror of what was done, the question is one of "Why?", and if it can be prevented in the future if the meds are the problem.
Uh yea, they’re going to have a field day with him in prison, then he’s gunna die.
Same here. I would prefer to just run him feet first through a shredder.
monsters walk among us.
When I was a firefighter, a couple set their house on fire with their three kids upstairs in the bedroom then went off to the store. Motive, they had taken out an insurance policy of $35,000.00 total on the three kids.
I think they are still in prison.
Which bridge was she thrown from? I don’t think the Skyway ... nor the Harold Franklin ... anyone know?
Perhaps the Dr. Jekyll half of his personality has the decency to commit suicide.
If his carcass made it to shore, nearby residents would have to put up with quite a stink.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaah don’t be “liberal” that makes declaring victory harder than damning it all to hell and forgetting about it.
OR, would commit suicide along with their murders, but the devil can easily find dupes today. A demon can not be killed. It just passes on to the next person it can find.
People use this not realizing that it is a metaphor for the believers who must come “as a little child.” There is no truly innocent child, due to original sin. Assuming that there are, eventually ends up pointing accusing fingers at God for being incompetent, if not cruel.
‘Children do have guardian angels:
Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven Matthew 18:10
This is what daddy can look forward too if all things remain the same,
It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones. Luke 17:2’
Good post.
+1
‘So, what meds was he on? Or just off? (Dude sounds like he had a screw loose to me from the article.) No daddy in his right mind would do such a thing to his little girl.’
What if he’s a sociopath?
(Warning: known side effects include your tongue splitting lengthwise, your ears falling off, suicidal thoughts, the desire to eat human flesh, and the disappearance of your genitalia, but 37% of sufferers with moderate to severe eyebrow dandruff reported mild improvement after 90 days).
I am haunted by the thought that a significant number of Americans are taking drugs that are at least peripherally involved in incidents of mass slaughter and other generally socially unacceptable behaviour.
If we don't ask, if we don't look, we may never see the real problem, in which case more little girls (and other people) may well die horrible deaths.
Preventing that isn't 'liberal', FRiend, it is about as conservative as it gets.
Adverse reactions to stopping some classes of antidepressants cold turkey have been documented, and many of the mass murder shooters were (at one time) on such drugs, or off their meds.
I am being somewhat flippantly cynical having seen a lot of the hip shooting that goes on.
When one is a specialist in hammers, everything starts looking like a nail. Even screws.
We should be grateful on one level for the facade of civility that earthly society keeps. Guys may be constantly thinking about tossing their daughters off bridges, but few actually do it.
Sometimes these new miracle psychiatric medicines are too easily substituted for the old fashioned patient observation of yesteryear. Even in cases destined for long term success, the short term evolution of the situation can be chaotic as the patient’s mind readjusts to the new constraints and the new helps/energizations.
And it is a crying shame that not one psychologist or psychiatrist out of ten can say anything coherent about the love of God today.
I had already clicked the link and read it. I’m not saying he is a sociopath. But he well might be. If so, he cannot feel empathy and doesn’t feel remorse. Drugs can’t make him a sociopath or unmake him one. It’s something that happens to a person very young, and for which there is no known cure.
All I’m saying is that if he is a sociopath, his ‘Dr. Jekyll’ half will never feel any genuine remorse or empathy. He might fake it for effect, but even a halfway decent psychiatrist could unmask the pretension. Unfortunately we live in an age where sociopathy is more common than in the past. Many societal factors coalesce to create an environment conducive to such personality disorders. It’s generally the most defenseless people in the sociopath’s environment that pay the highest price.
Sounds like schizophrenia to me.
