Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney , the Republican presidential nominee in 2012, told a meeting of donors Friday that he is considering another White House bid in 2016, people present said.
The possibility of a third Romney bid could upend the emerging GOP field, coming as top Republican donors are starting to rally behind former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.
Mr. Romney made the remarks during a session Friday afternoon -SNIP-

The only way I want Romney to run is to “run away” from politics. “Run, Romney, Run”!
So you don’t care what she gets beat with? Bhoner good? How about Mitch?
Why not?
Jeb good for you?
Again, this prediction is worthless if Bush does not do well early and gets out of the race.
There's a lot you can say about Romney, but his is incredibly intelligent, and a highly successful business man. For sure he rationalizes that all he needs to do is rack up huge blue and purple states like NY, CA, IL, and WI. If he does that, and guys like Cruz and Paul split places like TX and KY (Bush likely wins FL, btw) it really won't matter how much we hate him. We'll be stuck with him. Again.
There's that phrase again.
What the hell. Why not just come right out and say that conservative principles are a dusty old relic of the past, and admit that party is all that matters?
It would be liberating, don't you think? No more need to hurt our brains puzzling over candidates' records, worrying over their policy platforms, etc. We could forget about any alliances (or dalliances) they may or may not have. Whatevah.....just vote R, and leave the rest to our betters in Washington. We'd be at peace at last!!
Jeb and Mitt both in the race would split the RINO vote.
You can’t leave an enemy metaphorically alive Windy. We must all be destroyed. We could re trouble the GOP otherwise.
In other words, that's a deal breaker. It should be.
And, for that matter, Jeb is not someone who I am convinced can.
A lot of establishment pundits are saying that Hillary's inevitability works in Jeb's favor. I think the opposite is true. If Hillary is the DNC nominee, I see a lot of voters throwing up their hands in disgust -but only if Jeb isn't on the other side of the ticket.
No. The criteria should be ‘Is this the best person for America?
Winning with trash gets us more trash.
That's not what I'm saying at all. I'm saying that I've seen this movie, and I know how it ends. I promise you: You won't like it.
Sigh. You are correct.
I'm afraid your conclusion is airtight. The game has moved beyond partisan politics, which is merely a charade the elites play to keep the proles believing that the 'system' works.
Nothing could be further from the truth, as any intelligent person should have concluded from the last two presidential elections.
Until we the people decide to get off our duffs and resist with the 'last resort' the Framers bequeathed to us, the game will continue as programmed.
If he runs 2nd NH, 2nd Iowa, 1st SC, 1st Fla, then Perry is out, Santorum is way out, Walker is out, in addition to Bush and Rubio.
This would leave Cruz, Mittens, Rand, and the gabillion dollar question.
The gabillion dollar question is, I have not decided what Christie does to this whole picture.
I don't grok FatBuckle's supposed 'charisma'; but NH used to be a weird, unpredictable primary (Stassen, Buchanan 96, McCrisis 00...Also, on the dog side: Tsongas over Bubba, but Cankles over Bobo), and if CC were to win it...
Dont say that too loud. You’ll upset Bert. The meme is I am always wrong.
What part of "He [Mittens] would eliminate Jeb and Rubio (who inherited some of his key staff members), so let him run." did you not understand?
His son was quoted saying that, not Mitt.
Christie, Rand and Mitt do what Mitt did with other GOP libs last time. Eliminate the conservative running.
And mit never corrected it. Pretty obvious that.
With the GOPe pulling down their pants and leaving a big wet one
all over the front seat of your car?
(Because that's how I remember `12… and `14.)
So, you're good with a Republican who's a Democrat In All But Label Only, as long as he can beat Hillary?
Geeesh....
Heard this on Special Report tonight. Argh! Also, heard Nina Easton, or whatever her name is, call the conservatives in the House, that voted against Boner, the “Caveman Caucus”!
