Atlanta Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran has been fired for authoring a Christian book in 2013 that described homosexuality as a “sexual perversion.”
By Jessica Chasmar - The Washington Times - Tuesday, January 6, 2015 Atlanta Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran has been fired for authoring a Christian book in 2013 that described homosexuality as a “sexual perversion.”
Mr. Cochran had just returned to work Tuesday at the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department following a monthlong suspension for comments in his book, “Who Told You That You Are Naked?” the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
In the book, Mr. Cochran identifies himself as Atlanta’s fire chief and says it’s his first priority within the department “to cultivate its culture to the glory of God.” He was accused of distributing copies of the book at work, prompting an investigation into potential discrimination within the fire department. The findings of that investigation have not yet been released, the Journal-Constitution reported.

What happened to Freedom of Speech? He wrote the book as a private citizen, not as part of his job.
Did I miss something? When and where are we told to embrace a sexual preference that we do not subscribe to? How can this be justified? Unless the leadership are homosexuals and they are pushing, no demanding their sexual preference be moved into a position higher than any others. And since when does sexual preference have anything to do with your employment

But I think the galactically larger question is: Whatever happened to righteousness and morality?!
The officious personages INVESTIGATING whether anyone in the Atlanta FD was offended by the Chief’s book, are in for a humongously rude awakening when, someday soon, they face the Judge of the Universe, Who is NOT amused by these people’s acceptance, their embrace, their militant forcing upon society of their sodomite lifestyle.
Did he do it on his own time? Did he bring copies to work to either sell or give away? No? Lawyer up.
He should have published it under a pseudonym.

Yes, the Communist juggernaut has made great progress in brainwashing people to perceive sin see as virtue and virtue sin. Man’s sense of modesty and shame have been dynamited. Still, in this case, existing law should stsill protect this man in the writing of his book.
What an irony. We’ve been told that sufferers of SSA can still be normal and function in all kinds of jobs. But Christians can’t?
