In the biggest defection from an incumbent speaker in at least 100 years, 25 House Republicans voted for someone other than John Boehner to serve as speaker in the 114th Congress.

I was reading on Emmer that he has retained a lot of Bachmann staffers. I wonder if there were any “rookie” Representatives that did not vote for Boehner. I know, first significant act of this legislature, I will study the list.
Rod Blum from Iowa. His district is not generally conservative, so he doesn't need cover. He's not generally known as a Tea Party guy either. A real surprise to me.
Amash had a RINO primary challenger. He also didn’t vote for Bhoner the last time.

List of those who voted against the crier today.
You may have already heard, but Babin folded and voted present. Way to show ‘em Babin.
Yeah....I heard.
These traitors still need to get tweets and calls.
I didn’t realize the whole House participated in the second vote. I didn’t bother to look it up, but that even concerned me about the first vote, not realizing only the Republicans could participate.
Right or not, Kackikat explained that the whole House gets to vote in the second round.
McClintock may have shyed away because of that.
This is a real shame, a chance like this and Bozo the clown retained...
Mia’s vote really let me down the most.
Very Well Said.
failed to win re-election. went after Cornyn and lost...
Dave Brat was on C-SPAN3 this morning (a rerun since in the course of his remarks he mentioned Christmas as if it had not yet happened). Very impressive. He taught Economics and Ethics at Randolph-Macon College for 19 years. He must be in his 40s at least but looks 25. He has a knack for explaining economic problems in a clear and interesting way. He’s the one who beat Eric Cantor in the primary last year.
My rep is John Mica (FL 7) and is a pretty good guy. I call his office often to vent or ask questions ..today I called and let loose with years of anger and sorrow. I told the (well-mannered and smart) young man in the office that today was my limit. I’m re-registering as independent voter. I’m done. They’ve sweet-talked me for the last time.
Heartwrenching day.
The FBI file on Boehner must be thick.
Greatly disappointed in TX. Out of 36, only 3 were brave enough not to drink the koolaid.
Newly elected Brian Babin is a gutless wonder! “Present”?
Money or morals.
Or blackmail for either.
It’s comforting that Chris Gibson did not vote for boehner.
Thanks for the link/info ;)
