Youngest Woman Elected to Congress Seeks Middle Ground

WATERTOWN, N.Y.— Elise Stefanik, the youngest woman ever elected to Congress, has never held elected office, but her résumé looks more like that of a Beltway insider than a political newcomer.

By the time she won her seat representing a swath of upstate New York in the November election, she had served as a domestic policy aide for former President George W. Bush , a policy director for former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty ’s 2012 presidential campaign and head of debate preparation for vice-presidential nominee Rep. Paul Ryan .

I have no idea where the middle ground is between right and wrong, good and bad, life and death. Those who talk about middle ground are either cowards or liars. Or maybe stupid.

How about letting her cast her first vote before treating her like a pariah ...

Geez man...

I disagree with her profoundly on multiple issues, but I see no reason to call her a “Gutless B!TCH!”

I wish her the best.
She was born in 1984, only yesterday to me, which means that she is only 31 years old. At LEAST someone young and conservative is running for office.

By the time she is 32 years old she WILL have gray hair...but only for as long as it takes her to go the beautician and get "Wash Away Gray" hair coloring.

AMEN.
Plenty of time to see how she does. She will undergo some changes in her philosophy, no doubt.
"Guts" and "bitchiness" are sometimes the same thing. If MEN have guts, they are NEVER bitchy. If women do/say the same things, she is called bitchy by those who don't like her.
AND, she will, no doubt, be called "bitchy" by other WOMEN! I learned to live with that...oh, decades ago.

I'm not complaining, just stating one of the more obvious differences of men and women.

Media takes warning shot across her bow. Hit piece will follow if she dares take a conservative stance.
I really hate it when the press prejudges anything a newly elected official might do.

I consider myself interested in the middle road, it’s just everybody else that says I’m a right wing extremest.

Middle ground; the war cry of the young and dumb...what a waste!

When the (PLDC) progressive liberal democrat communists tell her we welcome and encourage compromise, what they mean is we win you lose every time and she will never even notice.

Fair observation.

And, even if she never improves (IMO) in her views, I at least don’t see her being underhanded or deceitful about her positions, so I don’t see a reason to hurl personalized insults at her.

Just looking at her biography on Wikipedia tells me that she considers herself a member of the ruling class and spent her formative years working her way up the ladder. Now as an elected member of the Government, she is positioned to accumulate the power and wealth required to insure her and her posterity a continuation of their membership in this class.

She’s seeking middle ground. Between abortion pushing socialists and, whom? Border wrecking republicans, or founders observant conservatives?

The search is on, for the sake of the preservation of the country, for congress members who got in recently as republicans, and who are going to continue enabling obama’s tantrum - his angry I hate white colonialists bear-walk through our country

The rinos think they can do this under the radar or that their inaction will be forgotten.

This is the kind of headline they are looking for.

Their constituency for reelection are GOP establishment types. Gives them just enough votes to stay in office but out of the majority and the White House

They are not helpful

The people who think their wimpiness is good, are not helpful.

They think Jeb is electable. Not even Jeb can believe that

1. Thanks.

2. Amen to that. One can ALWAYS attack IDEAS. THAT is fair game. Personal attacks are just un-Christian. I am guilty of that, on occasion, as my fingers move faster than my brain. But, I always regret it and always offer public apologies to said blastee. Did so just the other day.

She gets a headline like this and she is on the new GOP confess watch list

Her votes will be watched just like all of the rest. And she will be judged accordingly

An anti-abortion group, The Susan B. Anthony List Candidate, have endorsed here.

Her position on same-sex marriage unions is unknown.
That COULD be a deal-breaker for me.

I have no idea where the middle ground is between right and wrong, ...

... in Politicks the Middle Way is none at all. If We finally fail in this great and glorious Contest, it will be by bewildering ourselves in groping after this middle Way.
