Arrests plummet 66% with NYPD in virtual work stoppage

It’s not a slowdown — it’s a virtual work stoppage.

NYPD traffic tickets and summonses for minor offenses have dropped off by a staggering 94 percent following the execution of two cops — as officers feel betrayed by the mayor and fear for their safety, The Post has learned.

The dramatic drop comes as Police Commissioner Bill Bratton and Mayor de Blasio plan to hold an emergency summit on Tuesday with the heads of the five police unions to try to close the widening rift between cops and the administration.

The unprecedented meeting is being held at the new Police Academy in Queens at 2 p.m., sources said.

Angry union leaders have ordered drastic measures for their members since the Dec. 20 assassination of two NYPD cops in a patrol car, including that two units respond to every call.

And guys, THINK ABOUT THIS, as an argument against gun control. What happens now in NYC - the bad guys, that have guns, are free to roam and hit, virtually at will. The good guys...hopefully they have a LOT of food and water stocked up, because they’d be crazy to hit the streets now, especially with the word out on the street that the cops are done arresting people.

“Ah, so now our police are intimidated by the thuggies...

great.

Guess we are on our own.”

If this spreads to my area (Memphis), most everyone I know is well-armed and somewhat prepared to deal with the thuggies. New Yorkers foolishly allowed themselves to be disarmed.

Trust in gov’t, however misplaced it is,
is what is keeping decent folks
from “putting down” the criminals among us.

Gun Rights Outweigh Gun Control In New Pew Survey
by Bill Chappell
More than half of American women now say owning a gun protects people from becoming victims of crime, according to Pew.
Dec, 10 2014 — —

For the first time in at least 20 years, significantly more Americans say it’s more important to protect the right to own guns than to control gun ownership, according to the Pew Research Center.

The survey found that more than half of Americans (52 percent) sided with gun rights compared with the 46 percent who favored gun control.

Don’t you love how the media advertises this, so that every petty criminal in the country knows they should go vacation in NYC right now?

Well, I recall that under Dinkins, he planned specifically to raise revenue to fix the nYC budget by increasing citations and fine issuances by police.

Yup.

Just send in the “Bring Out Your Dead” cart once a week and let them run things their way.

He will not, because he does not consider himself to have been disgraced. He considers this a MAJOR “feather in his cap”.

VIA - THE BLAZE

The #BlackLivesMatter Campaign Just Got an Unlikely Supporter
Dec. 30, 2014 7:00am Sharona Schwartz

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is using the controversy in Ferguson to blast the U.S. on issues ranging from “crimes” against Iran to the historical oppression of Native Americans and colonialism, using the hashtags #BlackLivesMatter and #NativeLivesMatter.

In a series of tweets over the past few days, Khamenei invoked the 1890 Wounded Knee massacre in which at least 150 Native Americans were killed by U.S. troops in order to make his point that Western culture is “aggressive.”

bullshit ... the word and concept of martyr is religious and hadn't been used (since Martin's Book Of Martyrs) until recent times concerning ragheads their attempt to shame/frighten/terrorize flacid Americans into inactivity against THEM.

People need to show up at meetings with a bucket of some black liquid and a pillow ... let the symbolism speak for itself

DeBlasio is just the easiest and least dangerous to "pick on" when in fact it is the entire obola and his administration

Yet another reason to stay away from that hellhole.

Hellhole?

Manhattan is one of the safest places on the planet and even the surrounding boroughs are far safer then they were during the ugly days of the 1970s.

Once you learn your way around, NYC is an amazing city and has the best food and entertainment options in the world - as well as a first class public transportation system, so you can leave your car a home.

You can thank Rudy Guiliani and the NYPD for that.

I'm hoping that this joker of a mayor gets tossed on his butt and that everything return to normal before things get too out of control.

I was in Manhattan over the weekend and definitely noticed less cops around and the local panhandlers and street con artists were already getting more aggressive.

So unless something gives soon, I fear that we will start seeing an increase in street crime. But I did need to point out that NYC is not a hellhole. Now Detroit or Bridgeport, CT, now those are hellholes.

Union Bosses and City Pols will get together behind closed doors. There they will design a scheme that will benefit each of them personally in both political and monetary terms.

Both sides will step before a microphone and announce that a solution has been found that is the best interest of the “community.” (I am hating that word)

The rank and file officers will be left wondering what happened as they are ordered to resume revenue collection through petty law enforcement.

When tourism revenue drops because people don’t feel safe going there, they will begin to make leadership changes. They may have to pay Giuliani a kings ransom to help them out.
