A Muslim civil rights group has sued the government on behalf of a former Navy enlisted man from Northern California who says he was the target of ethnic slurs, was reassigned to a menial job, and was later denied re-enlistment after seeking permission to wear a beard for religious reasons.

Perhaps if you had visited the Fulda Gap, you would have a different opinion of turbans and beards in the military, and would have approved of Reagan’s military decision.

I general I have no issue with Sikhs, but this article is not even about that.
It’s about beards in the service.
Are you aware that many a SF guy rode horses and wore long beards in Afghanistan?

For crying out loud, beards are what we are talking about, and Reagan rightfully banned them, Obama caved in to the Sikh activists though.
And you really want to use Army Special Forces in civilian clothes with long hair and beards on special operations mission to argue for these Muslim and Sikh activists and militants?
Under Reagan I was also serving in a unit that was to quit cutting our hair if hostilities approached, those are unique and specialized demands, not for the general military, and when we, or those special operations forces in the middle East are told to shave, they do, the temporary hair and beards are to serve a specialized purpose, for a particular mission.
So long as they do not interfere with gas masks who gives a ****?
