No, no, our Government now refers to ‘the people’ as ‘human Capitol’. We are already no longer American citizens.
Meanwhile, in the USA, my medicare advantage provider Humana called me on Christmas eve to remind me that my Diabetes medication prescription needed to be refilled and offered to call the pharmacy to order the refill.
The cost of monitoring at risk patients medications apparently is less than paying for hospital bills resulting from not taking the medication. Humana is especially attentive to all aspects of the treatment and assuring they are in fact carried out. For diabetes treatment Humana is proactive.
I do not have a serious diabetes problem but I also have a doctor that provides excellent treatment
Cut out the carbs and eat more healthy fats: you will lose weight. It’s that simple. But the gov’t is giving the exact opposite and utterly wrong advice to people.

What you say is in my case true....... down to a point. After decreasing to about 205, I ceased losing. My internals determined that is some sort of optimum and I can’t get lower.
If I do, then in short order it returns and levels off again.
Very strange
Ummm...no comment. ;^)
Americans who served their country in the Military and are now retired, their secondary health care plan to Medicare is Tricare Life for Ret. Military over 65. They control every aspect of your treatments, down to where you can get your daily med scripts. DOD MANDATED as of 4/14. Medicare has been controlling how long a patient can go to Physio and stay in the hospital for a illness for a decade or more.
WE paid for Medicare, WE paid for Tricare Life with 20 yrs of under paid service in the Military.
Both are RATIONED health care. And we can’t even take out a third policy to cover what they won’t cover. No dental, no vision, unless it is a disease, no hearing aids even if you are hard of hearing. A Co-Pay on such items would be welcome. Not asking for Total FREE, just a co-pay arrangement that private ins allows. 0 gutted Medicare, and congress gutted Tricare Life to pay for 0’care.
We don’t support socialized medicine, but ended up on it, just because we are seniors and hubby is 74 Ret. SCPO with 20 yrs of service.
Glad you’ve got your diabetes under control.

Not so strange. There is a lot of discussion about the so-called LCHF (low-carb high-fat) “plateauing” problem that some people experience. My wife defeated it by intermittent fasting. Others by skipping breakfast. Here are a couple of links that may help:

Actually, for purposes of Obamacare, people are referred to as “units” in some circumstances.
Excellent point, and one of the strongest arguments against socialized medicine in a free society. Once “the people” (aka government) have skin in the game. They are going to start demanding and exerting controls to limit their exposure. There goes your freedoms.
Give them more pot that will stop the over eating.

What’s the point of REPORTING it to the central planners. I would assume that a person’s weight is entered and electronically tracked in that country from the day they’re born. One can easily have the databases flag the BMI violators (as the Brits, no doubt, see them).
I will buy you a history book for next Xmas.
I assume that’s satire. Some people will think you are serious that the UK monitors people’s weights like Big Brother.
Hundreds of years ago, Sweden had a college of physicians, whose dictates had the force of law. At one point, they decided that coffee was “bad for you”, so they instituted a complete prohibition of coffee, outlawing its importation, provision, sale *and* consumption.
About all that remains of their “noble experiment” is an oil painting, depicting something best described as a “coffee bust”. Police bursting into a room where several people had been drinking coffee, struggling with the men there, while a young woman valiantly tried to drink a couple gallons of evidence. (Unfortunately I cannot find an online picture of this painting.)

Thank you for saying that. It’s rare on this site for US citizens to acknowledge that healthcare systems in the US (if it were not for Obamacare) are anything other than absolutely, rather than just relatively better than others such as the British NHS. In fact the distinctions are far from absolute. Your case is just one example - a British vet in your husband’s situation would have more options than you, since in the UK there are no restrictions on taking out additional private health cover if you so wish.
Do they have to report people who are known butt pirates?
If you try to get below that number you are going to be less healthy then you are at that number.
People get all upset about the number and forget that it is indeed JUST A NUMBER.
My temperature runs about 1 to 1.5 degrees below normal. If I went around trying to run a temp of 98.6 people would think I was daft. They would be right.
But some chart says you are suppose to weigh a certain number and we damage our health trying to reach that number?
Eat healthy. Lean protein, veggies and water should be a good part of it. Move healthy. Try to do something every day that gets your whole body in motion. Try to build muscle. Lift weights.
Ignore the number they push.
Bad ideas never die, do they?
Of course not. That would be a hate crime.
