Diplomacy: As the Castros rejoice at President Obama's move to normalize ties, extend trade credits, take their country off the terror list and free its deadly spies, the queasy question remains: What did the U.S. get in return?
The question is being asked by the more serious leaders in Washington. Marco Rubio for one. "(Obama's) foreign policy is, at a minimum, naive and perhaps truly counterproductive to the future of democracy in the region," said the Florida senator in the wake of the giveaway.
"Barack Obama is the worst negotiator that we've had as president since at least Jimmy Carter, and maybe in the modern history of this country."
"When it comes to foreign policy and national security interests . .. ," added Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, "the president should be focused on exactly that — on protecting national security interests. And this doesn't do that."
Both are right, because the bottom line on normalizing ties with Cuba's military dictatorship is that the White House gave that regime everything it wanted in exchange for nothing in return.
Cuban ruler Raul Castro said as much, standing before Cuba's people in his dictator's uniform to announce that Obama's move was won "without a single sacrifice of our principles."

Obama didn’t play a deuce in his world. He threw a lifeline to a communist dictatorship and further weakened the US at the same time. It is another win for Team Obama and a loss for the rest of us.

Is Rubio and Cruz really that blind? Obama is not a bad negotiator. He’s getting every thing he wants and that is the destruction of this nation.
Again, reading the news, I just want to throw up.

He played the exact card he wanted..a "Get of of Jail Free" card or more aptly said a "Save his Marxists Friends A$$" card.
We will get all their commie agents in return. In 20 years, assuming we are still here, all the Republican Cubans will be bred out of existence, and we will have more democrap slaves to vote and take benefits.
It the Castros would have allowed free and open access to the media, no restrictions on external publications, freedom of travel and the internet it would have been a good deal. This is what destroyed the old Soviet Block. This was Henry Kissinger’s “Detent.” I thought Kissinger was a fool. I was wrong.
Obama got nothing. In effect he has prolonged and propped up a brutal dictatorship. The real question is why he would do this. I truly believe Obama is a Marxist.
He pisses on our friends and aids our enemies. Occam’s Razor would dictate he is an ally of our enemies nor a patriot of our great nation.
