The IRS is considering its own temporary shutdown due to recent budget cuts enacted by Congress, its chief said Thursday.
IRS Commissioner John Koskinen said furloughs forced unpaid days off for employees as part of an IRS closure is one idea reluctantly being tossed about to save money, though they are hoping they will not have to go there.

There is no way we can say right now that that wont happen, Koskinen told reporters at a press conference on the upcoming tax season. Again, I would stress that would be the last option.

He said a one-day closure would save an estimated $29 million.

Who besides the employees themselves would feel bad about this?
Please, let it be so...
Focus will be on rich people’s tax returns and Obamacare fines for revenue.
The irs will never shutdown. It’s the vehicle for moving money from those who earn it to those who vote democrat.
It gives “jobs” to millions who would otherwise be collecting welfare.
LMAO!!
EPA next?
Please dear Santa, all I want for Christmas...
The budget crisis was made even more severe when they had to replace all of those good working computers and hard drives that were trashed in the Lois Lerner cover up.
The IRS is the fueling station for the engine of oppression.
Well, after the so-called record revenue they took in last year, maybe they have to go somewhere and ‘digest’ it... like a giant anaconda after swallowing a goat... WHOLE!
Maybe the IRS shouldn’t have paid those bonuses and keep paying benefits to criminals like Lois Lerner.
Amen to that. What a wonderful day that would be.
This pompous nazi basturd Koskinen is now governing our taxes AND our health insurance? If they can't do one like they should, how the Hell are they going to handle an additional task?
There is no way we can say right now that that wont happen, Koskinen told reporters at a press conference on the upcoming tax season. (s) “But you can be damn sure that upper management won’t be giving up any bonuses or perks, so the money has to come out of somewhere.”(/s)
Maybe they could start collecting from their own employees & other FEDERAL employees who are behind on their taxes.
They hired a ton of new agents, so if they have to put some on hold they will first go after the low hanging fruit.
Rich people’s tax returns.
Obamacare fines.
I read that to mean refunds will be even more delayed and rules likely to have even more late changes.
Shut-down or Strung-up?
Decisions, decisions.
How about closing down till bozo vacates the white hut and then take another year off.
