Vanessa Williams went public in 2012 about being sexual assaulted by a woman when she was 10, writing about it in her memoir You Have No Idea.
Recently, Teri Hatcher and Lady Gaga spoke out about sexual assaults in their past. Williams told FOX411 why she decided to share her traumatic event, and how she can relate to Bill Cosbys alleged victims.
I wanted young girls to be able to identify to know youre not alone. The scary thing is the people that come up to you that have similar stories," Williams said. "Its the most disturbing part of it. Its made me who I am, but the reality is how often it happens is the really sad part.

So I’m guessing that this is the reason she made a bunch of nudie pics....
No. The real reason is because her parents posed naked in National Geographic a number of years ago. It’s in the family, I reckon.
I loved Bill Cosby as a child but the more I observe the seemingly endless train of women as well as Cosby’s really horrible response/non-response to the allegations the more it becomes difficult to escape the idea that he is likely guilty. He may have not cornered these women in an ally but there are just too many women and not all or even most of them fall in the category of gold digger. Its a tragedy but it reveals a stark truth that people are not the one dimensional characters we see on tv and that even people who do good things can have very dark sides.
I just wish he’d come clean instead of going Al Sharpton crazy “the only reason this is happening is because I’m black” card. The whole thing does reveal the underbelly of Hollywood and the entertainment industry which often tolerates victimization. I mean who are they to judge.(sarc)
That is probably quite true.
Maybe Bill C has a problem, maybe he doesn’t, but when I read this today, I realized we’re waaaaaay past the tipping point here. Now you have women coming out of the woodwork alleging that Bill, “Tried to kiss them.”
See Kathy Lee Gifford:

I saw this....I think it would have had more importance had she been a little bit more indignant about it.
Kathy smears Cosby but sticks with husband who had sordid affair behind her back.
After Miss Williams was damn near destroyed by stupid decisions she made as a youth, she has, in my opinion become a remarkable example of how to over come those stupid mistakes.
No scandal or rumor of scandal for over 20 years.
He is trying the last refuge of scoundrels, in his case, Racism.
It might have been a viable option had he not had the audacity to question and rebuke certain aspects of black family being responsible for black ills in society.
He should just take his couple hundred million dollars and go away and just STFU.
Despite the complications of her rise to stardom, I agree. I think she is a very good actress and generally a nice person.
The Media needs to get this out of the way before Hillary announces her candidacy. Do women really want her husband, a serial abuser of women, back in the White House?
I will admit towards the very, very end of the last time I saw him, he did try to kiss me, she said. I said, No, Bill, no, were friends, and he said, OK, good night, and I said, Good night. And I went into my room, and he went into his room.
A lot of married men come on to single women. But once I said, No, absolutely not, he respected it, added the Today co-host, who is married to football great Frank Gifford.
So, in other words, Bill Cosby made a pass at you, and you said “no thank you”, and he respected you wishes. I really miss your point here, Kathy Lee. Are you supporting Cosby or piling on?
Actually, I think it's a nugget she is using to stay relevant in media, myself. She walks a difficult row because she has to appear to be both condemning and non-condemning at the same time.
I saw them. They weren’t just nude pics. They were hard core naked lesbo porn where she was doing very vile sexual thing imaginable with another woman.
Or just telling us something that she knows to be true and leaves for us to judge.
I saw one or two also. However, time and her actions since there certainly haven’t shown me reason to not like her.
It’s just my opinion.
That could be true. I just think otherwise because I don’t like her. Truth in advertising.
...being sexual assaulted....
***
Is that the same as being sexually assaulted?
Is proofreading really so difficult?
That’s basically the same claim in the only reported instance with Bill Cosby before his “pound cake” speech.
What Williams - or anybody else - should tell us is what date rape druq would act like what she described. In 2 sips of coffee it qave her immediate effects but she didn’t pass out until she was in the taxi - yet she waited a couple days for the effects of the druq to totally wear off.
From what I’ve seen, there is no druq that fits that description. Somebody tell me what druq Cosby qave her.
Janice Dickinson’s alleqed photos riqht before she was raped don’t fit what Cosby looked like in 1982, and she said he wanted to meet with her about havinq her on The Cosby Show, but Cosby had no TV show between 1963 and 1984. The whole story by her falls apart when you look at actual evidence.
So why would she lie so publicly, and who qave her the photos to use in her fake story? If she was willinq to lie, then why wouldn’t her motive also apply to these other women? There are incentives beyond just money - thouqh the motive of the woman who said she was assaulted at the Playboy Mansion is apparently money, if she truly tried to sell her story in 2005 and then perjured herself by sayinq she only recently found out that she had been harmed, in order to file a lawsuit.
I don’t know everythinq that went on and it seems like maybe Cosby was a womanizer. But the claims of rape have a lot of problems, and if somebody had the inteqrity to probe for the reasons that Janice Dickinson and her photo-providinq accomplice falsely framed Cosby it could open up a whole can of worms and reveal connections that these supposedly-unrelated women miqht actually have.
There is WAY more to this story than anybody (except perhaps Camille Cosby) is willinq to address.
