Jeb Bush said Saturday that he plans to release approximately 250,000 emails from his years as Florida's governor, as well as an electronic book.
An aide to the governor told Fox News that the emails would be released ahead of the e-book, which is due out early next year.
In an interview with Miami's WPLG-TV, Bush said he was releasing the emails for the sake of "transparency" and to "let people make up their mind." He served two terms as the state's governor between 1999 and 2007.
The move will likely increase speculation about whether Bush, whose father and brother have already served as President, will declare his own candidacy for the White House. He would be the early favorite of the Republican establishment, although many conservatives criticize his positions on immigration and education.
Earlier this month, Bush told The Wall Street Journal CEO Council annual meeting that he was nearing a decision about whether he would run and said he would make up his mind "in short order."
"I don't know if I'd be a good candidate or bad," Bush said. "I know a Republican can win, whether it's me or somebody else."

@murphymike How do you solve a problem like Columba?
To put Jeb Bush in perspective:
Probably, in a technical sense, Jeb was reasonably competent, and managed the office of Governor in a businesslike manner. But he did not express any particular ideology, certainly not any conservative bent, while he held the office, though he did oversee some initiatives on the state’s education system, protecting the environment, and improving the state’s economy.
In fact, in an effort to appear as non-partisan as possible, Jeb stayed out of any involvement with the famed recount effort in the disputed results of the 2000 Presidential election, passing almost all the responsibility off to the then Secretary of State, Katherine Harris. Harris rose to national attention as Secretary of State of Florida during the 2000 presidential election for her role in the Florida election recount.
It turned out, Katherine Harris was thrown under the bus by a combination of her own naivete and machinations by Karl Rove, working with Jeb Bush, when she was running against Bill Nelson for US Senate in 2006. So much for party loyalty by Jeb Bush.
Well if the e-book is free I will probably get it. I have a serious addiction to free e-books.
Doesn’t matter what the subject, I have thousands of free e-books on things I have really no interest in at all. Knitting, sewing, hunting, growing pot, and tons of others useless to me at the time.
Gov Perry receives a serape from Mexican Gov Enrique
Martinez of Coahuila, Mexico as a token of appreciation
for Perry's enacting the "Texican Dream Act."
Please, Jeb, just go away. Retire to Mexico, okay?
Hey I’ve lost one of my three chins!
F you Jeb. I don’t think there are enough suckers out there to put you in office. About the only thing you could possibly win from here on out, is even more disgust at the Bush family.
What bunch of bozos.
I’ll bet they’re cherry-picked to be the most disgusting fawning examples of adoration a guy could dream up for himself. They’ll probably make ones he would write for himself look like hate-mail in comparison.
Does this disgust anyone out there other than me?
That’s how they see themselves, natch.
Who cares
