Bill Cosby broke his silence Friday, albeit briefly, to lecture the media on remaining “neutral” and to say that his wife is standing by him.
Reached at his Massachusetts home, the star declined to address the rape and sex abuse allegations from an ever-growing list of women that now includes supermodel Beverly Johnson.
Instead, Cosby, 77, said that the African-American media — for which this reporter often writes — should be impartial.
“Let me say this. I only expect the black media to uphold the standards of excellence in journalism and when you do that you have to go in with a neutral mind,” Cosby said.

It really makes one wonder about the people who come on FR to defend him, and how compromised they are to do it. What could compel someone to defend a serial predator ?
Is everyone who disagrees with you a troll?
focusing on buttressing his case in the black media is a great defensive strategy for Cosby.
first, the principle of divide and conquer, especially on racial lines, applies in this case since most of the alleged victims are white and the alleged perp is black.
second, the black media is much smaller than the MSM, so it is easier to influence (if not bully).
third, it targets the potential support group of the most recent, most high profile, and black alleged victim.
if cosby is liable, and anyone has a viable civil case, then he won’t prevail at prelminary hearings, and his lawyers will need to press for out of court settlements to keep depositions from leading to criminal charges and bad publicity. a wild card is that these will be higher profile than the norm if they get that far.
if his lawyers can settle, and presuming no smoking gun evidence (eg incriminating videos, dna, etc) surface independently, then it should be clear sailing for him to a PR mop up phase in the media and court of public opinion.

He doesn't have any choice but to play the race card.
n Notice that the people in the know in Hollywood, the people who know him and his 50 year reputation as a serial philanderer and best friend of High Hefner and who would have heard 50 years of rumors and know the little things that they saw and heard from co workers and friends, and on sets, are totally silent, and not speaking out to defend him from the revelations that he is a lifelong, serial rapist.
That leads him to playing the race card.

Donna Motsinger and the others were real lookers back in the day. Many look well preserved even today. My estimate is out of the 19 drugged and raped, 2 were black. Cosby was like Eldridge Cleaver who got back at whitey by raping his women.

actually cosby has another card, which is for his wife to come out swinging in public interviews.
the problem with the good wife card is if there is a physical evidence smoking gun, such as a video or dna. if cosby is actually liable for any of more egregious allegations, then the existence and sudden unexpected surfacing of such evidence might never be able to be discounted. if his wife comes out in his favor in interviews, and is later proven to have come out on the wrong side, then she runs a risk of losing whatever remaining credibility she now has by having attempted to defend him, and would become in the public perception an active enabler element of his behavior after the fact. that is a disgrace that anyone in her position would almost certainly seek to avoid at almost any cost.
one can imagine that the conversations over the dinner table are becoming very interesting for cosby and his wife.
IMHO the good wife card trumps the race card, because the number of women is larger than the number of blacks in the general population, so the potential for appeal along identity lines would seem to be greater with the former than with the latter.
if cosby is innocent, then he is free to deploy the good wife card at any time. however, it might be strategically optimal for him to wait until a time at which it would make the most PR impact, such as just before, during, or after a civil trial. so, if cosby is innocent, the fact that his wife is not out defending him vigorously in public right now is not necessarily an indicator of his guilt IMHO.
Cosby’s wife (married since 1964), obviously has issues of her own.
About all that the general public knows about her is her racist anti white piece she wrote for the LA Times a few years ago.
As far as her 50 years of letting Cosby do what he wanted as he became a regular at the Playboy mansion, as she dealt with Cosby’s sex scandals, and then even his rape scandals, she has some explaining to do herself, this could be a case of two sociopaths finding each other and staying together in a marriage of power and wealth.
