David Hooks was shot in the back and head as he was lying face down on the floor during a drug raid by Laurens County deputies.
That's according to the lawyer representing his family.
It's been nearly four months since David Hooks was shot to death during a drug raid at his East Dublin home.
13WMAZ's Paula Rotondo spoke to his wife, Teresa Hooks and the family's lawyer, Mitchell Shook.
Hooks died Sept. 24 while deputies served a search warrant at his home.
They were looking for drugs, but didn't find any.

The WOD going along as planned. Nothing to see here folks. More asset seizures and dead bodies as we shred the Constitution in search of funds and fun.
It was their duty and right to shoot him. He was in the home when they did their random raid. How else are they going to get practice for facing criminals?
Oops!
They raided the wrong address and shot to death an innocent man.
Great police work.
Special unit got instructions to erase him ...
“They were looking for drugs, but didn’t find any.”
Well, this was an inexcusable oversight. They are supposed to follow the “shoot first, plant drugs later” protocol.
And no media.
Doesn’t say anything about the dog. I presume he lived?
In a saner time in this country, officers involved in such a screw up would have resigned in shame, there wouldn’t have been any need for a public outcry.
The family unlike the Michael Brown thug family, respects law enforcement.
There are good cops and then there are bad cops.
Bad cops who kill unarmed people are no better than thugs with badges.
Send ‘em to death row.
Every time an innocent person is shot by the cops, the chief should be held responsible because either he has not properly trained the men, has not laid out strict rules and enforced them on how weapons are to be used or has in some other manner neglected his duty.
We fire CEO’s and football coaches and police chiefs should be no different.
In the case of the wrong address, there is irrefutable proof that the men have not been properly trained.
There is nothing easier than verifying an address.
UPS does it a few thousand times a day.
except that all too often the good cops are coerced or willingly protect the bad cops.
that is the thin blue line . . .
And since the citizen cannot tell the good cop from the bad cop . . .
Somehow cops can’t be bothered to make sure they got an address right.
Mistakes like this happen more often you think.
If UPS was run that way, it would go out of business.
But government never pays for its mistakes.
Clearly this is police misconduct: forcing SWAT officers to go for an entire two hour period without a doughnut break is a ghastly human rights violation.
“They were looking for drugs, but didn’t find any”
How many times have we read this in the last year or so? That’s what happened in Cornelia, GA when the cops threw a flash bang grenade into a baby’s crib.
You do realize their training is the problem and its not for lack. SWAT training is all about weapons and using them on anything/one that gets in the way of ‘the mission’. Think military w/o the discipline.
SSDD.
Roses are red, violets are blue;
Cops are murdering the Whites, why not Negroes too?
