Jackie has a lawyer.
Palma Pustilnik, an attorney at Charlottesville's Central Virginia Legal Aid Society, said Wednesday morning that she'd been retained as counsel by the woman at the center of a Rolling Stone account depicting a gang rape at a University of Virginia fraternity house.
The magazine revealed Friday that it found "discrepancies" in Jackie's account and said its "trust in her was misplaced." The fraternity tied to the allegation, Phi Kappa Psi, has said it found no evidence to support her claims and several key facts in the story were refuted by records.

***Pustilnik added: “I will also take this opportunity to let others know that threats and attempts to extort and/or intimidate have been and will continue to be reported to the appropriate authorities.”***
Extort? No, people are suing because they have been lied about. Lots of people.
No evidence. Yet the fascist that runs the school suspended all fraternity activity based on an unsubstantiated accusation. This is what passes for “justice” in today’s Amerika.
Update from her *friends* is devastating.
If you have nothing, there can be no defense.
The judgement will simply never be paid because there are no assets worth a damn to attach
I’m wondering if she did have a date that night with someone who did not have the social standing of a junior fraternity member. Maybe she was ‘slumming’ and had a date with a townie but wanted to make it into a more socially acceptable event. Maybe she really got raped by the townie but didn’t want people to know who did it.
[snip] The woman at the center of the University of Virginia rape fraud has accused men of raping her in the past... before the events in the now retracted Rolling Stone story. Coakley's story has collapsed with friends and family giving conflicting accounts of her alleged sexual assault. Are we really to believe that a mere 18 months later Coakley didn't know what to do after she'd been raped a second time? [/snip]
I don’t think she had a date at all. I think she fabricated a person to make her friend “Randall” jealous. One lie lead to bigger lies to cover up the first lie. She probably had to get dressed up, and pretend to go someplace. She could’ve done anything that night from going to the library, to walking around campus, to hiding in her room by herself after pretending about a date.
She had several hours to concoct a story that made sense to her, to get some attention from her friends. She put her plan into action by calling her friends while in hysterics. I think she faked the entire thing. They said they didn’t find her by the fraternities, that they were about a mile away near other dorms. So two of her friends spent the night with her to comfort her. The next day, “Randall” got a text message from a non-existent date, ie. Jackie herself.
I think Jackie needs professional psychiatric help more than she she needs a lawyer, but at this point, she needs both.
She needs a prison cell. Permanently.
That’s probably why “Randall” didn’t want to go out with her. She had a history of making rape accusations. Who wants to risk being accused of being a rapist? So he turned her down and little did he know of the Drama Queen episode to follow in the Rolling Stoned.
Michael Nifong is probably available to consult.
Even crazier is that Jackie had been attending rallies and retelling her horrific rape story for months. And not one “advocate”, adult person in authority ever thought of contacting the police.
