In mid-November, conservative news outlets posted multiple videos of Jonathan Gruber, an MIT health economist who worked on Romneycare and Obamacare, crediting the "stupidity" of American voters as one reason that the health law passed.
The videos were not flattering for Gruber; Democrats have moved quickly to distance themselves. And, perhaps more consequentially, they have breathed new life into the Obamacare opposition effort. Today, the House Oversight Committee is holding a hearing with Gruber titled "Examining Obamacare Transparency Failures."

Here'a a quick guide to who Jonathan Gruber is, why he's at the center of this controversy, and what it means for the future of Obamacare.
1.) Who is Jonathan Gruber? [video at URL]
Jonathan Gruber is a big deal in health economics for two reasons. First, he was an architect of Massachusetts' universal coverage expansion in 2006 --- the law that, four years later, Obamacare would closely mimic. Gruber was so key in Massachusetts' reform efforts that Gov. Mitt Romney thanked him by name [link at url] in the speech he gave when the law passed.

I can think of another scam they were conned twice on.
I was just curious to see the lapdog lackey media spin on it. I knew it would be a wild spin.
For real! That’s why Gruber may have a point, as regards app half the country-the half which voted for the pack of liars.
What say you?
Obamacare and Romneycare?
The CIA report will bury Gruber under mountain of DISTRACTION
Watch DU, they will be spinning themselves dizzy.
Or, Obama elected twice?
Take yout pick...
The most vehement supporters of Obamacare don’t really care about how it was passed, what was in it, or if it works.
All they care about is the good feeling they get from “wanting to provide affordable healthcare to the poor”.
Now, given that motivation, do you think they’ll “be conned twice”? How about “every time”?
I was wondering what the DUmmie Funnies would be on this topic.
I’ve lurked there a bit recently. They are doing their usual about their losing candidates not being far enough to the left. Right, Bernie Sanders would sweep Louisiana /s
I am watching the Gruber hearings on C-SPAN. The Democrats are totally throwing in with Gruber. I did not expect that.
The Democrats are totally throwing in with Gruber. I did not expect that.
I was considering watching it, but at the time thought that it would be a mud-slinging fest, with Dems joining in on it to try and create even more distance between them and Gruber.
If what you are saying is true, then I am actually suprised.
His lies were aimed at Democrats in the House and Senate.
They were the only ones who had to be taken in and vote for the trash.
The consequence is most of those who voted for this are gone from the next session of Congress.
They sacrificed their careers for the Party.
His view of them being stupid is accurate.
Other articles on the web will undoubtedly try to spin this, but tis Vox via Yahoo News article doesn’t do this at all.
