AUSTIN, Texas -- Police are investigating the death of a 53-year-old Austin choir director who was found slain in her home.
Austin police say Kathy Blair died Saturday from apparent trauma caused by a "weapon involved," reports CBS affiliate KEYE. They say the killer knew Blair and that there isn't a risk to the public.
A family member called police Saturday after finding her body in the northwest Austin home. Police haven't released other details about the death.
Blair served as the director of the Christian Choral Society of Austin, a music program for home-schooled students. She taught about 250 to 300 children between the ages of 4 and 18.
Neighbors told the Austin Statesman that Blair was renting the house and had moved in four or five months ago. She would sometimes have groups of students come to her house to build sets for musical productions, the paper reported.

Sounds like there was one too few firearms at the scene of that atrocity.
husband?
Most likely no signs of forced entry to the property.

I have read a couple of articles and no family is mentioned. I did find her FB page and looked at a friend’s page and she asks people not to post any ideas they may have of what happened.
She sounds like a really sweet woman who wouldn’t have any enemies. None of the articles mentions robbery. Just seems such a waste to kill a woman who was apparently so loved. Hope they find and convict whoever did it.
I read she has two grown children but no mention of a husband.
I'm guessing one or more students.
That and the wounds may indicate a lack of defensive quality if somebody strange to you walks up and starts to attack, your going to likely show wounds on your forearms and hands, as your defending yourself. However, if you know them and they start to attack, you wont as likely have those defensive wounds.

I just checked out her Facebook page. Only someone truly evil could kill such a wonderful lady. :(
Exactly. I find it strange there is no mention of a husband. I hope they do a follow-up if someone is arrested.
We’re living in the most violent of times since before God drowned the world with His flood. Jesus said the times would be just like it was in those days - a world full of violence.
The last time it was like that, the most horrific incident ever known to man occurred. And, almost no one survived it. Sadly, few believed it ever happened.
Genesis 6:11 Now the earth was corrupt in the sight of God, and the earth was filled with violence.
Immediately after this, we have the great flood.
Crime is down a lot since the early 90s, IIRC.
I’m referring to a worldwide phenomenon, not just here.
Genesis 6:5 - 6:11

Luke 17:26
And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: 27 they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28It was the same as happened in the days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building; 29 but on the day that Lot went out from Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. 30It will be just the same on the day that the Son of Man is revealed
"Police were called to the home at 12:12 p.m., and said a relative had discovered Blairs body. As police taped off the home and street, neighbors said they saw a man in his 20s nervously pacing the street in front of Blairs home with blood on his pants."Later stories have dropped that claim.
I read that and assumed it was her son, although I don’t know if she had a son. What I read just mentioned two grown children - sex not given.
Police make inferences from evidence.
