We’ll be lucky if we hear anything about these hearings on the evening news.
The democrats on the so-called Senate Intelligence Committee are releasing their report on so-called torture by the CIA during the George W. Bush Administration today in order to deflect the news of the Gruber testimony.
Good. The turd needs a slappin’.
I’m amazed c-span is broadcasting this. Lately those hearings detrimental to the administration have been relegated to online viewing only.
Is Trey Gowdy on this committee? If so, I would love to watch him tear Gruber into wee bloody shreds.
I don’t think the point is that he said “voters are stupid”,
it’s that he said “this is how we intentionally lied about Obamacare to get it passed”.

Marilyn Tavenner had a fake, phoney shocked look on her face when Issa sprang from the gate blasting her for late, non-responsive document dumps to subpoena. Watching her whip her head around to her equally startled aides was priceless.
Ms. Tavenner: Oops! We counted some enrollees twice. We won’t do that again. We promise. {uncrossing fingers}
Tavener does not look happy to be there. She has rolled her eyes several times already.
She’s explaining the mistake of including 400K dental plans in the total enrollment and claims that the process has been corrected so that doesn’t happen again. They always “claim” to have fixed things after the erroneous info has been the narrative for several months.
What Gruber said makes little sense. Stupid or not, the American voter had nothing to do with getting ACA passed. It was passed entirely by democrats in the House and Senate, using some procedural trickery.
Given that, I suspect that the whole “Gruber” thing is a drummed-up distraction.
Elijah Cummings is stating now that this hearing is a kangaroo court and only being done to embarrass Obama.
Cummings said that Mitt Romney praised Gruber for his expertise on Romney Care.
Gruber is saying now that he worked closely with Romney and did not doing any drafts of Obamacare.
Gruber: “I’m very sorry. Now where’s my check?”
Cummings just said “pre-existing conditions”.
When something pays a “claim” that is really not a “claim” because it is a sure thing the thing paying is NOT insurance.
Would it be insurance if the government forced private insurers to sell something called insurance that pays for a house fire after the house has burned down? Would it be auto “insurance” if a person could buy a policy after they had an accident? Would it be disability “insurance” if a person could buy disability coverage after they were disabled? Nope! It is not insurance when the odds are a claim are 100%.
People in government, largely, are unable to understand capitalism. If they could and if they are smart they would be out making their own money using our amazing capitalistic system. Instead, they go in to government and because they do not understand the value of a dollar they simply don’t care about the dollars they confiscate from the rest of us that, well, actually work for a living.
When I was young I looked up to people in government, I thought that they were our best and brightest. As I grew older I discovered that that was not the case at all and more often than not these people were not the best and brightest but the opposite. I’d go on but I’m listening to the hearing and all I can think about this moment is:
