One of Bill Cosby's alleged sexual assault victims recently got out of prison for, among other things, fraud ... and Cosby is now lashing out at her.

It’s not guilty first, it’s public relations first. Nobody wants to be the place that gave the rapist money after it was “known”, that’s bad publicity. Very unfortunate for people falsely accused, but for the venues it’s just not worth the risk if the accusation are held true.
“Right - just wondering though why now?”
Celebrity rapists know they can rely upon the fact celebrities are at risk of false rape charges and the public will usually give the celebrity the benefit of the doubt whether or not the celebrity really is a rapist. The rapist then uses that confidence to intimidate and threaten the rape victim to remain silent or face bodily harm and/or ruination of personal reputation and finances.
As these articles about Bill Cosby so ably demonstrate, there are still strong prejudices, especially by males, that the woman must be a liar in this circumstance. Yet, how many people, especially men, have ever stopped to consider how they would feel if they found themselves in similar circumstances; i.e. everybody sitting in judgment about your actions and failure to defend yourself?
I ran into a comparable situation as a university student. I was assigned to be the university’s host for an international diplomat attending an official conference. When I delivered this diplomat to his hotel room he turned on me like a Jeckyll and Hyde personality and demanded that I serve as his pimp and immediately deliver some girls and boys, adult and underage, to his room for some sexual entertainment or face certain physical threats from him. Knowing his diplomatic passport gave him diplomatic immunity, I backed out of there while not saying a word in response to the attempted intimidation. It was obviously a situation which came down to who would be believed if it came to a confrontation.
As soon as I left the hotel I telephoned the professor who was the sponsor and my supervisor for this event at the university. I reported to him exactly what happened and told him I wasn’t having anything further to do with this person. The professor said he understood and said I did the right thing by reporting it to him and let him handle the problem diplomatically. A couple of weeks after the event was finished, I was summoned to the office of a visiting laureate professor from the diplomat’s own home nation. I had never seen or heard of this professor before. After being ushered into his office, he began to unleash a torrent of verbal abuse against me and described how he was going to ruin my reputation and run me out of the university. To avoid giving him an opportunity to claim I said anything improper to him, I kept my mouth shut and left his office without saying one word.
In the following weeks and months he made good on his promise to retaliate for my reporting the attempted sexual misconduct of the diplomat. I was forced out of the university when they started plastering my vehicle with university parking tickets and hundreds of dollars of fines even though my car was parked off campus on the private property of a family friend well beyond their university jurisdiction. Books returned to the university library on time and in original condition suddenly all started disappearing with thousands of dollars in late fees, fines, and replacement costs being levied against me. Years later the same books were found on the library’s book shelves in original condition. The library manager smiled as he refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing and refused again to cancel the levied fines and costs. Somebody tampered with my car’s transmission and destroyed it, so I couldn’t meet a class schedule. And so it went until I could not afford to stay in school at that university any further.
Don’t discount these women and their allegations. These criminals can and do ruin people’s lives so long as the public unquestioningly protects their celebrity and privileged status.
I wonder where 0bama’s ex-gf’s or intimate bf’s are?
Could be.
It only just recently soaked into me of what he was supporting when he became a public supporter of Tawana Brawley in relation to these 20 accusers of him covering a 40 year period.
Brawley was an obvious rape hoax, yet he put up a reward and wrote publicly on the “racism” involved in the “rape”.
“But then if Cosby is past that SOL then what do those women gain?”
You can consider it as an effort to regain some of their own self respect that was taken from them by the rapist and the public which aided and abetted the rapist’s ability to intimidate the victim into remaining silent or suppressing the victims who tried to not remain silent. You can also consider it an effort to give other rape victims public permission to come forward with their own experiences in a bid to keep this sort of crime committed by celebrities from happening to other women and children without impunity.
This story did get play in 2005/2006, but this time there was a perfect storm, more internet, Cosby making a huge new comeback with a new TV series, the black comedian who brought it up, and Cosby making a huge blunder as part of his social network publicity push.
Reportedly two or three of them were murdered by contract executions in November and December 2007, about the same time as the State Department passport records of Obama, McCain, and Clinton were tampered with by the contractor who was subsequently given an important position in the Obama Administration in 2008.
I remember in phila they had such a problem with people claiming to be on any bus that ever had any sort of accident that they finally did a sting by announcing a bush crash that didn't actually happen. They got about 600 people coming in claiming to have been injured in the crash.
Those people came in within an hour of hearing about it on the radio. They all got arrested and fined for fraud.
Think I missed Cosby in that hoax. Sharpton is the real racist in that episode and the media has done nothing about it. Guess it’s racist to bring up black transgressions.
Cosby was a big player in the hoax as well.
Twenty women covering 40 years of rapes and a court settlement in 2005 and two unrelated police reports from two women 4 years apart is a whole different story.
Well, since one accuser might be lying, then all of the others MUST be lying.
That’s the way it works, right?
Does that include the one that rapist Cosby paid off in a civil settlement?
Fifteen minutes of fame. TV interviews for money, gossipy magazine articles, etc. Never, never overlook the trivial hunger of the American people. After all the Americans put the imbecile in the White House.
You're implying that if he had the right politics it would be right to defend him?
It’s the money, it’s always about the money. It sure is peculiar that nobody has come forward about Barry ... just like Barry all of a sudden appeared on the Chicago streets with a clipboard ... he has no history (queue the zombie music).
I agree with you,in principle, there will be breathless TV interviews, for a fee. The TV “fees” will be paid irrespective of the Statute of Limitations and its effect of money making suits. There is money to be made off of poor old Cosby(who may be guilty as H*ll!)
I am so sick and tired of liars in this country. If even some of the women are liars that is awful. If even some of the women are telling the truth while Cosby lies, that is horrible.
Lying to the public is one thing we can count on these days.
Bearing false witness- one of the big ten. That goes for Cosby calling truthful women liars and women who may be lying about Cosby to smear him. It is poisonous to the soul of the individuals and to our Nation’s culture.
Seriously?
They are all liars too you know that.
Fat Albert says one or two common sense things even while sucking Obamas toes and Freepers think he’s a negro Churchill
Throw his sorry ass under the bus and move on
