In the world of Twitter and Facebook hashtags, the potential 2016 presidential candidates who generate the most buzz are former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, according to Politico.
On Facebook, Clinton and Cruz together racked up 40 percent of posts and comments having to with the 2016 presidential race. On Twitter, both got 47 percent of mentions on the topic.
And while former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush attracts plenty of media attention, hes virtually ignored on social media, getting a lowly 3 percent of Facebook mentions and 2 percent of tweets, Politico noted. Sen. Marco Rubio, a Florida Republican, did even worse, with just 1 percent of Facebook mentions.
Lots of attention, however, does not equal gobs of love....

Not “was” 40 years ago.
“IS” today.
He's pro-life, pro-2nd, for strong borders, for private medicine, and for smaller government.
His wife is meaningless in my calculations.

So I’m culpable for My Lai? Where do I turn myself in?
Look, she may be the greatest thing since sliced bread.
I’m just telling you, that in the eyes of millions, Cruz is married to Satan, the Illuminati, the Bilderbergers, etc.
No matter how you explain it, GS is considered the nexus of crony capitalism, the “investment firm” that always benefits the most as the bosses swap chairs in govt, academia, investment banking, the regulatory agencies, etc.
Go ahead and try to separate her out, I’m sure she’s great, etc. BUT to millions, GS = Fed-Gov-Satan’s handmaiden on Wall Street.
And that means lost votes, up front.
Why do you have a problem separating “you were somewhere 40 years ago” and
The wife of Ted Cruz works for Goldman Sachs?
I love Cruz. I’m looking at it dispassionately, in terms of votes won/lost.
No matter how you approach it, Cruz will lose a significant % because he is married to what THEY (not me) believe is the nexus of govt-corporate corruption, GS.
Please see 20 and onward.
Former Gov. Palin is married to a “noble savage” AmerIndian. How’d that help her in 2012? Michelle Obama had a high-paying job where she shuttled uninsured patients from her hospital to lesser ones. Did that stop her husband in 2008? Nancy Reagan believed in horoscopes and astrology. Etc., etc.
I am NOT saying it is right. I am saying WHAT IT IS.
MILLIONS of people hear “married to Goldman Sachs” and they would sooner vote for a homosexual Morman Pope.
Geez.....perceptions matter. Explains 2008 & 2012.
Rand Paul's immigration speech...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.[Posted on 03/19/2013 7:04:07 AM PDT by Perdogg]
Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.
Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.
Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.
If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...
This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.
Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.
Rand Paul calls on conservatives to embrace immigration reformLatinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... [and the buried lead] "Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers...[Posted on 04/21/2013 1:52:42 PM PDT by SoConPubbie]
[but he's not in favor of amnesty, snicker, definition of is is]
Goldman Sachs IS the Vampire Squid of finance, but I’m more troubled by the Ivy League.
After 28 consecutive years, I want a NON Ivy League POTUS.
I hope you’re right. I just believe an early examination of our candidate’s potential Achilles heals before we are stuck with a mortally wounded albatross.
Absolutely.
Jeb is Mitt without the passion and charisma.
