The surprisingly large carbon paw print of your beloved pet (Libs want you to kill your dog alert)

Last week President Obama announced a historic climate change agreement with Chinese president Xi Jinping. Aimed at drastically curtailing carbon emissions into the atmosphere, the goal is to rein in the carbon footprints of the planet’s two major polluters, the U.S. and China.

I wonder if the agreement contains anything about carbon paw prints. While humans and their ravenous appetite for growth remain the primary drivers of climate change and the accompanying specter of climate catastrophe, pets have a surprising negative impact of their own. Bowser and Mittens may be your best friends, but with around one billion pet dogs and cats in the world, eating billions of pounds of canned meat a year producing half a billion pounds of waste daily, Mother Nature might just consider them to be—after humans—Public Enemy Number Two.

Cats and dogs eat meat-based diets, and we all know that is the most energy intensive diet there is. Then there is the staggering amount of bacteria-laden fecal material these beloved creatures produce. American dogs alone are responsible for 10 million tons of waste a year. Can anything be done to make our pets more planet-friendly?

The Carbon Paw Print

You consider yourself an environmentalist and are considering ditching that gas-guzzling SUV you bought a few years ago in order to reduce your carbon footprint. You might want to think of ditching Bowser instead. An average-sized dog consumes about 360 pounds of meat in a year and about 210 pounds of cereal. Taking into account the amount of land it takes to generate that amount of food and the energy used, that makes your dog quite the carbon hound.

I’d rather see liberals report to Soylent Green Inc. I hear they make pet food now.

I wouldn’t subject my dogs to such abuse...

Reminds me of the old magazine cover with a dog with a gun to its head:

Buy this magazine or we’ll shoot this dog!

I knew a mostly vegetarian couple (that also ate eggs) that fed their dogs a vegetarian diet. The dogs started raiding the chicken coop. They had such a feast they even stashed some dead chickens in a hole for later eating

It’s a well known fact that when bloviating, liberal politicians exhale more empty CO2 than any other living organism. America tried to do something about that a couple of weeks ago but alas, it seems to be an unsolvable problem.

Bring the popcorn, so we can watch liberals with dogs/cats/horses get into toe to toe battles with their radical environmental fascist former buddies.

Carbon control gives them control of every area of your life. There isn’t anything out of bounds for them, once they have established that they have the right to regulate carbon dioxide, which is to say, your very breath. And, obviously, your dog’s breath. And your kids’.

I love the wars between the greens and PETA over the wind farms killing birds. LOL.

Wind farms are an incredible waste of money.Probably the absolute most expensive method of producing electricity devised.Small scale onsite wind plants fit niche needs due to transportation costs of fuel and so on and make economic sense in those special cases.

It’s entertaining to go to moonbat sites like “Salon” and toy with the minds of the deranged. One commenter said he enjoys setting his dog loose to attack Republicans. Here’s my response:

Interesting. I trained my mastiff to shred and devour liberals. It took some acclimation to get him used to the taste of lib meat, but once he gets past the smell of unwashed flesh that is typical with the unclean, he digs in.

He enjoys the thrill of the chase as much as the catch. Watching liberals flailing their skimpy little arms as they run and squeal in abject terror is the stuff of high entertainment.

Mere puppies eat that much. My adult dog will go through 160# of dry dog food in less than a month.

He’s a bargain at that price because he can lie in my 92 year old friend’s front door and the door stays open safely. Breezes come in, but not one Urban Feral.

Nothing has left the yard, either.

Best part is the feral cat problem is no more.

From the above, we can safely state that large amounts of dog food cures many problems.

A better argument for liberals - how many people had pets instead of more polluting children? And now you want to take away their child substitutes, if not ration the quantity?

This reminds me of one of the few still-funny Futurama jokes, where the militant vegans had a vegetarian lion that looked like a starved pitiful creature.
