President Obama’s looming executive action on immigration reform represents a Fort Sumter-type moment, according to conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly.
Fort Sumter, of course, is the sea fort in Charleston, South Carolina. It was there the opening shots of the U.S. Civil War were fired on April 12, 1861.
Schlafly at first considered comparing the Obama amnesty to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, but decided that Obama’s plan is much more subtle.
“With Pearl Harbor, the American people knew what was happening,” she said.
But Fort Sumter represented the beginning of a ruinous war, and Schlafly, like fellow conservative luminary Richard Viguerie, speculates that an executive amnesty might touch off a sort of modern-day conflagration.

We ought not accede to the purveyors of chaos, but with care and under rule of law accept those who want to partake of America. We do a disservice to the millions who are here by granting them privileges apart from due education in regard to citizenship.

We conservatives talk loudly about how humans by nature yearn to be free. These millions who have entered our borders, is that what they yearn for or not? To live as a free people requires sacrifice and discipline. These millions who have entered our borders, is that what they are willing to accept or not? We should not cheapen discipline and the rule of law, but cherish, honor, and uphold it. This cannot be done under the auspices of a pseudo-American demagogue who elevates himself as a citizen of the world over citizens of the Untied States.

Very astute observation. Laws are for suckers. Tens of millions of illegals know that.
Obama is a creation of the communist “Democrat Socialists of America”.
Obamacare is their plan to methodically destroy health insurance and install “single payer” better known as European socialism.
Obamacare is one prong of the communist attack. It brings control and economic destruction. Other prongs are dissolution of borders, sacking military leadership, shrinking force size and readiness, and arming enemies such as al qaeda.

Seizing upon a local issue and fanning the flames, fomenting unrest, then generating sympathetic unrest in other locations, as was done in Ferguson, is straight out of the Operation Arab Spring playbook.
Are there enough people left that don’t want the gov’t to “save them”?

There are currently 29 republican governors— subtract Ohio’s amnesty-favoring Kasich, that is still 28 to 22.
These governors could simply void an illegal federal amnesty in 28 out of 50 states. You must be a state citizen to have standing to sue in state court. An illegal immigrant can have standing to sue in federal court, but just void federal court in those states for illegal aliens and let the federal courts try to impose their will without any state authority, much like Jackson’s defiance of the USSC, but in reverse.
That would leave 22 out of 50 states with amnesty, but they would also be saddled with a higher unemployment, higher crime and higher taxes for citizens than the 28 without amnesty. there would be an exodus out of the states with amnesty to the states without amnesty.
The states with amnesty would eventually learn the folly of their ways.
Obama could say whatever he wanted. Whether he wants federal troops to intervene with force in the constitutional states would be his choice. And it would be at his peril.

When the Caliph offers amnesty to the illegals, everyone illegal or not should apply.
All should participate and play the game.
It’s been feeling like 1860 in the USA for awhile.
1861 is right around the corner.
We can’t continue to exist half free and half communist.
Civil war has been looming since the passage of Obamacare in 2010. I often wonder if there will be a flashpoint and then I speculate what that might end up being. But I don’t think Obama’s EO is going to be it. I might liken this to the Dred Scott Decision that created so much animosity between North and South. Should all of this escalate into some Harpers Ferry sort of incident, we’ll know then that the excrement has hit the fan.
