Wal-Mart Stores Inc has informed managers of its roughly 5,000 stores across the United States that they can match prices with Amazon.com Inc and other online retailers, the head of the company's U.S. business said on Thursday.

Hard to believe B&N is still in business.
High overhead, liberal snobs..
Exactly.
I have done the same.
Walmart’s online presentation sucks. The format is their problem IMO. If they’d clean it up, and make it more interesting I’d think more people would shop their online site.
I’m am 82 year old woman who LOVES Amazon.
I haven’t been to Walmart or stores like Walmart in years.
.
They have a lot more online than in stores.
We have a used book store, McKay's, that is amazing. Even best-sellers show up almost immediately. I can spend hours in there.
Also... and this was shocking, at least to me... Goodwill has an excellent selection of books for next to nothing. Plus they offer a military discount. I've even found good clothing buys... some with the tags still on them.
Amazon shipping times can be ridiculous for non Prime customers.
I have had shipments take up to 6 weeks in transit. One package got lost in NJ for 2 weeks. Another got bogged down in PA. Another was in north MS for over a week before it got to Little Rock and I got it the next morning.
Most other companies’ shipments arrive in 2 to 5 weekdays.
The grocery section is second to none in our area, mgmt. has price-matched quite a number of items for me over the years, and the excellent pharmacy staff refills my heart Rx for $4/mo.
All the shopping carts are new, parking is ample, well-lighted and maintained, and site-to-store purchases generally arrive as quickly as Amazon without my having to pay $80/yr.
Then again, this area is far enough from any urban shitholes to still be civilized.
Perhaps that's not the case in your location.
I'm glad they're here.
apparently that still happens, remember Dinesh D’Souza’s book wasn’t being stocked by COSTCO
Wally World is dead to me. Nothing they can do can cause their own resurrection.
The truth is in the UPC.
Amazon does not own or operate the carriers. The carriers should be taking your heat.
Amazon was cheaper. And more convenient. Again, these are the paper staples and such.
maybe now, but back in the day it was the model number.
Went to Best Buy for a TV. Told the manager what I’d found it for online, He matched the price. No arguments at all. These places will bargain for a sale.
For many items I get 2 day express shipping free. Some items may in theory take 5-8 business days, but they have often arrived sooner.
I can’t stand all of the red. Too much red in Target.
Avoiding every retail establishment termed “off limits” by FReepers is essentially impossible.
If you eliminate every company that is run by a gay person, endorses gay marriage, employs union workers, sells stuff from China, contributes to Democrats/Rinos, etc it’s really a small group.
If you sign up for Amazon Prime at $99 - you get FREE 2 day shipping, the ability to stream movies and music online and thousands of discounts available only to Prime members. For a year, that’s a pretty good value.
I have shopped Wal-Mart for MANY years and I have never stood in line behind more than two customers..ours now has about ten or more self check out posts...very efficient!!
