If I use amazon, I don't get the product right away. On the plus side, I don't have to travel to Walmart and deal with the walmartians.

Bingo.

Standing in line at Wal-Mart is a giant giant pain in the butt.

I used to never go to Wal-Mart, preferring Target for discount shopping.

But since Target endorsed sodomy, I haven’t gone there.

Will they play the game that other retailers have? The it’s not the same exact product number even though it’s the exact same product game?

Amazon is often NOT cheaper than Walmart, for the same Chinese-made crap.

As a Prime member, though, they are so much more convenient.

"...deal with the walmartians. "

Depends on the demographics or the WM location. I've found many WalMart Stores to be excellent for offerings and staff.

Others not so much. WalMart supposedly pioneered fine tuning their individual store offerings to the local situation. A better local situation is highly correlated with their better stores.

I use Amazon subscriptions for a lot of our needs when I can find them at outrageously low prices and I get free shipping. Stuff like Poor Man’s Blend coffee, demura raw sugar chunks, matzos, the old Noxzema menthol shaving cream, shampoo, soap, the British version of Sunshine Golden Raisin Biscuits, Coastal Atlantic French Sea Salt, and other snobby hard to find things we like but can’t find in regular stores.Won’t find that stuff at Walmart.

You don’t have to go to Walmart. You can order online, and it wil be delivered to your door. They are usually quicker than Amazon.

Not paying the 9.5% sales tax is a real plus for me too.

I really hate going to Walmart and waiting in those long checkout lines while they have 20 unused checkout lanes.

Other stores open up additional checkouts if the lines get too long. The Walmarts around me dont.

I absolutely HATE Walmart, I would rather order on-line and wait for it than to have wait in one of the few lines that are open.

I use it to sometimes order CDs, books, and small electronics.

Amazon has a million things you can’t find at Walmart.

Sometimes the prices are high, but often they are low with free shipping.

I don’t care how cheap the Wal-Mart prices are, I’m not going back there until they institute a dress code for their customers. So many people that go there dress like slobs.

Bought a special USB for my camera, checked local walmart online first.
They said they had it in stock fo $7.

Went down ther, got jerked around for over an hour, wasted gas, no cable, no joy.

Ordered on Amazon for 50C, came with a free Iphone stylus.
With shipping it was less than $5 and was in my mailbox 3 day later.

Works like a hose.

And you can return it to Walmart nearest you if needed! That's what I like...I hate return packaging...even if free. It's a hassle.

I thought Walmart had a match the lowest price policy.

“On the plus side, I don’t have to travel to Walmart and deal with the walmartians. “

On the plus side, you don’t have to travel at all, and in most states don’t have to pay sales tax either.

They match brick and mortar competitors. I tried to buy some electronic in store that they had cheaper on Walmart.com, and they refused to match it.

Finally realized they needed a competitive advantage.

I just placed my yearly order for paper staples & such from Amazon Subscribe and Save. Delivered to my door. Don’t have to lug it in a cart, to my car, out of my car.

Years ago, I was in a Barnes & Noble bookstore, looking for the latest Ann Coulter book. It was on the Best Sellers list. But ... since they are Liberal as hell ... B&N didn't have the book. But -- they happily told me -- they could get it from the warehouse in 2-3 weeks.

I said, "I'll go home, order it from Amazon, and have it in 2 days. And by the way, you guys will be out of business unless you catch a clue."

I use it to find retro brand stuff or close copies. Many of the discussion groups offer up valuable feedback on stuff. My true coffee and tea drinking favorite, the Sunshine Golden Raisin Biscuits had been off the market for 20 years. Product feedback forums helped me find almost exact versions. I then discovered there were thousands of people looking for the same “Gone” products which are still made in unknown places under unknown brands.
