Salon.com has hit a new low. Sundays article, titled, You dont protect my freedom: Our childish insistence on calling soldiers heroes deadens real democracy argues that patriotic celebration and respect of our military is a childish trait and forced troop worship and compulsory patriotism must end.

Let's make it a point to honor all our heroes in our U.S. Military at every link we visit where we might leave a comment! Wishing Happy Veterans Day to all Veterans and I am keeping those in the war zone in my prayers.
A Florida Freeper Ping.
Simple solution - for one day, deny those at Salon access to any of the freedoms/benefits that have been paid for by the blood of our warrior heroes...
This article begs the questions: Does Salon believe in heroes/ And if they do, who do they consider heroes?? I would be really interested in knowing the answers to those questions.
That flame you see is coming out of me! I’m pissed! They think they can demoralize Veterans the way they have gone after Christians. This must be stopped NOW! Call them out and comment on all writings of this nature.
Speak Out Americans!
Suppose someone published an article just before Martin Luther King Day making the case that King should not be considered a hero. How would Salon respond?
On the same weekend they post this vile screed, they also post this:
EXCLUSIVE: John McCain unloads to Salon on Ted Cruz, ISIS and repealing Obamacare
I didn't click on the link so I don't know if McCain takes potshots at Cruz as the headline suggests but it wouldn't surprise me if he did.
Good list ........for enemies of this country.
The sheep generally do not like the sheepdog. He looks a lot like the wolf. He has fangs and the capacity for violence. The difference, though, is that the sheepdog must not, can not and will not ever harm the sheep. Any sheep dog who intentionally harms the lowliest little lamb will be punished and removed. The world cannot work any other way, at least not in a representative democracy or a republic such as ours.
Still, the sheepdog disturbs the sheep. He is a constant reminder that there are wolves in the land. They would prefer that he didn’t tell them where to go, or give them traffic tickets, or stand at the ready in our airports in camouflage fatigues holding an M-16. The sheep would much rather have the sheepdog cash in his fangs, spray paint himself white, and go, “Baa.”
Until the wolf shows up. Then the entire flock tries desperately to hide behind one lonely sheepdog.
“Salon.com has hit a new low. Sundays article, titled, You dont protect my freedom”
Well, of course not. YOU want to get rid of our freedom!
Bingo.
Soviet Tractors of Peace!
So, most everyone on this board is older than me.....What did American Leftists say during the 60's, 70's and 80's about the Massive Soviet Army?
Was there a Peace Movements against the Invasion of Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Afghanistan?
What did the hippies think about that?
Does Salon even employ ex-military?
You can’t reach an all time low without getting lower every day!
Knowledge will degenerate into a riot of subjective visions and Justice will be replaced by Pity as the cardinal human virtue, and all fear of retribution will vanish and The New Aristocracy will consist exclusively of hermits, bums and permanent invalids. The Rough Diamond, the Consumptive Whore, the bandit who is good to his mother, the epileptic girl who has a way with animals will be the heroes and heroines of the New Age, when the general, the statesman, and the philosopher have become the butt of every farce and satire. From W. H. Auden’s “For the Time Being,” a prophetic poem from a half century-ago (1944).
Many thanks for your prayers. I was in church last Sunday, actually the post chapel on Fort Campbell where the congregation was mostly young soldiers & soldiers with their families. At the conclusion the pastor made a bunch of announcements then remembered Veterans’ Day was coming up.
He asked all Vietnam veterans to stand. Four of us old f@rts stood up then the pastor called for a round of applause (which I hate during church service). I felt awkward since it’s been 42 years since I last came under fire and all these young soldiers in the 101st Airborne have or will be deployed again & again.
Of course the leftwing jerks at Salon are no more than the spawn of those who reviled us for serving in Vietnam, I get that.
The real tragedy is that military service is now performed by only a small percentage of the population and it is getting smaller. Doing a hitch in the service used to be like a rite of passage to adulthood or full citizenship. Used to be a majority of members of Congress were veterans but now it is less than 30%.
I went, I did my job, & I’m grateful that vets are treated better now than in the Vietnam era. Meanwhile the worthless no accounts at Salon.com can go bleep themselves. And I always will hate Jane Fonda, neverending.
That would mean dropping these fools into Somalia or ISIS-controlled territory because that is precisely what the world would look like without his so-called non-heroes keeping the peace.
Unspeakable fools.
