country club Republicans

I also think of them as Chamber of Commerce Republicans, who don't want to lose sales at their various car dealerships by taking the risk of "offending anyone".

The EXEMPT COMPLICIT Prince:
"Ignore this article, my most beloved King.
We will continue to protect you... who has made me, and my staff and family ... EXEMPT."

"At the foundation of our civil liberties lies
the principle that denies to government officials
an exceptional position before the law and which
subjects them to the same rules of conduct
that are commands to the citizen."

Justice Louis D. Brandeis

The author raises some good points, but this piece comes across as the ranting of a borderline lunatic.

He's going to be disappointed when the Republicans don't repeal ObamaCare. That's not a bad idea on their part, either. Instead of repealing it in its entirety -- which would be chaotic for employers and insurers and politically disastrous because the voters actually favor many of its provisions -- the more prudent approach would be to simply legislate a number of its worst elements out of existence. They could start by eliminating those parts of the law that Obama himself has unilaterally delayed on his own for political expediency, along with the most loathsome provisions like the individual mandate. Obama probably wouldn't even veto these, but if he did, there would probably be many Democrats willing to jump on board with the Republicans and override his veto.

The establishment boys (and girls) are too conceited to even consider such a possibility. They’ll “reach across the aisle” out of either cowardice or out of arrogance.

“...there would probably be many Democrats willing to jump on board with the Republicans and override his veto.”

I think 6 years of Obama has made us all a little insane.

No. The parts of the law that Obama has delayed should be allowed to come into force. People need to feel the full brunt force of Obamunism. People unfortunately have to feel pain to learn. You can tell a child not to touch something hot, but they won’t believe you. It’s not until after they burn their finger that they fully understand.

I said the same thing back after the 1994 landslide (Gingrich and Dole). They, too, were convince of their own greatness and gave us over to another 20 years of decline because of their arrogance.

Do the will of the people under the constraints of the Constitution, dammit!

I’m more pleased with the fact that patriots/conservatives control two-thirds of state legislatures. That’s a great political base to begin attacks against the criminal, fascist federal government.

State legislators can start attacking federal bureaucracies by erecting “a multitude of New Offices, and send hither swarms of Officers to harass their people, and eat out their substance.”

Start a thousand brushfires across the country. When the fascists tamp one out, start 10 more. Harass them at their workplaces, at their homes and while driving to the store to buy a gallon of milk. File thousands of lawsuits to overwhelm the system.

This is the formula that the Founders used to begin the fight against the king’s Tories, and it worked.

Excellent post. The Cook County Democrats have built themselves a veritable fortress of private privilege.

Let's see what the Supreme Court does. All those folks who signed up via the Federal Exchange will likely go back to having no insurance...and we'll pick up the tab for them as we have always done.

Remember....the emergency room in every hospital says no one will be turned away. That's the law.

On the flip side, a few of the Republicans who won do have a lot of positive assets - let’s not group them with the RINO GOPes that we have managed to dilute just a little bit this time around while knocking a few of their hard left colleagues out.
