Gingrich: High Court Obamacare Decision 'Devastating to President'
Newsmax ^ | 07 Nov 2014 | Sean Piccoli

Posted on 11/07/2014 4:47:15 PM PST by xzins

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich tells Newsmax TV that a Supreme Court decision on Friday to hear another legal challenge to the Affordable Care Act is "devastating to the president."

"I have no ability to judge what the Supreme Court will do," Gingrich said, noting that Chief Justice John Roberts once cast the deciding vote to uphold President Barack Obama's signature health care overhaul.

But Gingrich said the new challenge is based on making the Affordable Care Act comply with the actual text of the statute that Congress passed and that Obama signed — and Gingrich said that in this case, "The law is very clear."

Because 36 states did not set up an exchange, and instead offered subsidized insurance through the federal exchange at healthcare.gov, Gingrich said that "by any reasonable reading of the law, you cannot offer a subsidy in 36 states."

"If the Supreme Court says, 'Since that's what the law literally says, [and] if the law ought to be obeyed,' you just devastated Obamacare in two thirds of the country," said Gingrich.

Said Gingrich, "As a non-lawyer, it's pretty hard to read the law and not believe that it is illegal to have subsidies in 36 states."

They took it because Obola was defanged three days earlier ...

*************************

Boy, do I agree with that. Obola was so popular when SCOTUS ruled the first time that I think Roberts was afraid of riots in the country & personal reprisal. Now, it’s a different ball game. He’s not an dumb man ... surely he sees the horrific damage the law has done & the longer it goes on, the further entrenched it will be. The Libs won’t riot this time if the decision goes against Obola .... but Obola very well might have a mental break.

“If an agency is the ultimate judge in every case of conflict, then it is also judge in all conflicts involving itself. Consequently, instead of merely preventing and resolving conflict, a monopolist of ultimate decision making will also cause and provoke conflict in order to settle it to his own advantage. That is, if one can only appeal to the state for justice, justice will be perverted in the favor of the state, constitutions and supreme courts notwithstanding.” ~ Hans-Hermann Hoppe

The first bill to be sent to Obama is that the insurance industry can’t be bailed out for losses incurred under Obamacare...

Devastate away, baby!

Poor little Bambi. He’s been trying for years to kill us, and I thought he was getting pretty close...and then he just crashed. Too bad for him.

That said, don’t turn your back on him. He’s going to be angry, seriously angry.

I think if they rule against Obamacare... obammy will definitely release some sort of a decree / executive order “fixing” the problem etc. He is mental enough to challenge both the congress and the courts.

Ok. I am on my 2nd glass of Cabernet, but I am quite certain (unless thee has imbibed more than I), that this sentence could be re-worded to make it easier to understand. Don’t get me wrong; I think you are on to something here - I just want to be sure.

5. This gives Roberts permission to overturn the whole law, while not reversing his puzzling ruling from a couple of years ago. My bet is that he’ll embrace that opportunity. Especially since it’s pretty clear to anyone over the age of 5 that this law is massively destructive to our society.
The Chicago machine has something on Roberts. My guess is he will magically divine another convoluted bit of logic and "surprise" everyone yet again.

“He is mental enough to challenge both the congress and the courts.”

His defiant reaction after the election had me thinking he’s as imbalanced as Hitler was. I don’t doubt he’ll be even more aggressive with his executive orders now.

The Supreme Court essentially gave up on trying to interpret the Constitution in the 1930s, when FDR blackmailed them. They haven’t shown any inclination since.

However, reading the unambiguous text of a law has not yet been fully discarded, so this could go against the president. The only thing really scary is that the lower courts have defer to what this president says it should mean, rather than what was written.

Neither Hitler,Stalin,Mao nor Obola are/were "imbalanced".

"Imbalanced" is when you have a brain disorder (schizophrenia, for example) that causes you to believe that the receiver chip in your brain is getting transmissions from Mars."Psychopath" is,by far,the best word to describe the individuals mentioned above. They do know the meaning of right and wrong...they just don't care.

"The Chicago machine has something on Roberts."

YOU THINK!!!!

Answer to what the "Chicago machine has," is his (in my humble opinion) adopted children. Reference: if I recall correctly the children are of "IRISH decent" (actually from the country of Ireland) but somehow adopted (the paper work) from a South America Country.

I forget which, but Alex {1} I'll take Bolivia, for $500.00.

Houston, we have a problem, something is not Kosher!!!!

{1} = George Alexander "Alex" Trebek is a Canadian-American television personality. He has been the host of the syndicated game show Jeopardy! since 1984.

Well, Johnny Roberts has had another set of election returns to read.

May they affect his flawed constitutional judgement in a positive direction!

They took it because Obola was defanged three days earlier and they can begin the process of shutting him down without fear of reprisal.
Obola is going to be attacked from all sides, now. The magic negro has left the building.

My take too. That compromised numbskull Judge Roberts is to blame on the confused first ruling that went Obola's way
******Compromised by the way his two adopted children were adopted//////// plenty on the internet about this

Thank you for the assessment. It may be enough, on top of the democrats political bloodbath of Tuesday to tip things in the favor of the American people. Obama has been diminished in a very real and tangible sense, although it’s easy to see where this could make him far more dangerous due to his mental instability.

No excuse for the court however. Obamas idiot policies need to be completely dismantled and destroyed.

I literally stumbled into Newt and his wife last night. They, and their handlers, were leaving a sparsely attended (Friday night from 6-7 in Palm Beach county) book signing at a B&N. Their large SUV was parked in the handicapped spot at the front door. Impressive!

BTW, they couldn’t get out of there fast enough at 7pm. A Capital Grille was about 300 yards away. I wonder if they drove? Valet service at CG.

I don’t know where you get your definitions from but a psychology textbook defines psychological imbalance as

“It is characterized by mental instability, confusion, unhappiness, mental disturbance, frustration, worry, panic,
maladjustment, depression, mental hang-ups, obsessive
behavior, neurotic tendencies, abnormal feelings and behavior.
Some things that can lead into it are:

- fear
- insecurity
- anger
- lack of confidence
- self-doubt
- worry
- anxiety
- hostility
- frustration
- unrealistic personal goals, objectives, expectations

Combinations of the above negative things can work together to
create a vicious circle that pulls one down ever deeper and
deeper into a mental abyss. Frustration, fear, anger and panic
can create great mental stresses that can cause instability,
maladjustment and abnormal feelings and behavior. Victims
develop mental hang-ups by repeatedly, but futilely, trying to
analyze their way out of their problems. They become so
preoccupied with their problems that they lose perspective and
balance (they become like a fly trying to get free of a
spider’s web). They become caught in negative thought and
feeling patterns that pull them down. They find themselves all
mentally confused.”

Good enough description of those mentioned for me. Psychopath works too because without a psych assessment, we are just guessing. And arguing semantics when we essentially agree is a waste of time.
