Brigitte Bardot: ‘I Hate Feminism, I Am a Masculinist’

Brigitte Bardot has done so much to further the rights of animals. But the rights of humans are something she has no interest getting involved in. Bardot has repeatedly in the past made hateful comments about immigration and France’s Muslim community. And now she’s shared a rather ill-advised opinion on everyone’s favorite F-word.

In a recent interview with the Daily Mail‘s Liz Jones, Bardot was asked if she considered herself a feminist. “No. I hate feminism,” she bluntly replied, adding, “I am a masculinist.”

When pushed to comment on whether she thought the feminist fight was too insular, crippling other causes like animal welfare, Bardot refused to get further involved. “I think that women do what they want.”

As for those comments on Muslims ruining France? The estranged actress, who recently celebrated her 80th birthday, staunchly claims she doesn’t regret anything she’s said or written.

It’s certainly not the most galvanizing piece of feminist commentary we’ve heard in recent months. But perhaps Bardot’s statements should be taken as a warning of the dangers of confusing a woman and a woman’s image. Bardot has been equally outspoken about she didn’t exactly relish playing the part of male eye candy during her ’60s heyday, yet we’re still insisting on making her the free-spirited face of sexual liberation.

Just why she’d want to consider herself a “masculinist,” however, remains a mystery.

She started a lot of young boys thinking about girls, too.

I'm sure it does, Hannah. I'm sure it does.

A doll in her day, she has not aged well. But then, neither have others.

Bardot is no dummy. Women had it pretty good. No worry or stress about working. Husbands providing them with all the things they needed to live. Like their own personal servant.

And husbands too...someone to have responsibility for the upkeep of the house, for the proper raising of the children and a regular sex partner.

But NOOOOOOOOOOOO..........

It’s ugly women who tend to be feminists.

Oh yeah, growing up in the 50s and 60s with Bardot, Marilyn Monroe, Jayne Mansfield, Gina Lollobrigida, Anita Ekberg, etc.
It was heaven.

I happened to catch her movie “Contempt” on TV a couple of weeks ago. I think it will answer any questions that any might ever have about the male vs female dynamic. Oooh la la.

I have wondered about this lately. We use to have such gorgeous and classy looking leading ladies. Now what does the media throw out to the masses - Lena Dunham and Sandra Fluke. What has happened? How did we twist beauty on its head like this?

That often didn’t work out for the “ugly” ones and they were jealous of their more well-endowed sisters.

Lots of “femnists” from early times could have scared the paint off a Buick

Attractive women get attention from men and they generally like it. Unattractive women see the attention attractive women get and are jealous that they aren’t getting that attention. That’s the way it’s always been and it makes women bonkers that they can’t change that to make it more “fair”.

Hence, feminists. Hence rejection of feminists by the women who received the attention when they were attractive.

Don’t really need a PhD to figure that out.
