The Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) offers our warmest congratulations to the Jewish Republicans who won their races yesterday in the important election of 2014. We are especially delighted that Lee Zeldin won his congressional race in New Yorks first district, making him the Jewish Republican in the 114th U.S. Congress. We are also pleased that the Jewish Republicans in state offices around the country won their reelections. Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens, Ohio State Treasurer Josh Mandel, South Dakota State Senator Dan Lederman, Texas State Representative and House Speaker Joe Straus and Texas State Representative Craig Goldman all won reelection. Congratulations to them all. And congratulations to Dan Schwartz, the incoming Nevada state treasurer. We are very proud of our members and friends who made the choice to serve, took on tough opponents, and won the day. We thank them for their service, offer them our continued support, and wish them success going forward.

Wow...but don’t generalize or steteotype
A secular Jew is at times a rabid progressive America hating bigoted against Christians or thinks Netanyahu is a bully or otherwise undesirable Jew that reasonable Jews disown as not a Jew
Folks like Russian Oligarchs or your average Comedy Central writer
Hat tip real Jewish Conservatives...I know it ain’t easy
“Congress” includes the House and Senate, so Jews are represented about in proportion to their 2% of the population.
I think they are people with some Jewish heritage but are largely agnostic and materialistic.
Perhaps they hit the temple when there’s a funeral or such.
“Hat tip real Jewish Conservatives...”
Bears repeating.
May they prevent those secular types from hiding behind and profaning the skirts of lovely, traditional, conservative women of the Jewish faith.
IMHO
What a crock you keep trying to sell people to defend the Jewish vote.
Why would as supposed conservative lie like you do to defend democrats?
You even lie about Jews in the “Congress”, for instance look at post 8.
Regrettably, Zeldin will be the only Jewish Republican in the incoming Congress, to the best of my knowledge. That's an improvement over the lame duck Congress, which had none after Eric Cantor's resignation earlier this year. (This marks the first time in many years that there are no Jewish Republicans in Congress.)
Regrettably as well, Zeldin carries a reputation of being a RINO, based on his voting record in the New York state legislature.
But there are many mon-Jewish Republicans in Congress who share a similar ideology and values with Jewish Republicans in general, especially with respect to Israel and the Middle East.
BTW, zeestephen, the author of this posted article is a female.
Who has served honorably.
I expect we will be hearing about him for years, indeed decades, to come.
Lots of people can’t define ‘Congress’. And can’t do math. They usually vote Democrat.
I’m only interested in the number of Conservative Republican Jewish members of Congress.
I don’t care if 100% of Congress is Jewish as long as 60% of the Senate and 51% of the House are Constitutional Conservatives.
Is there any sort of sign how moderate Elise Stefanik and John Katko will be? I’m trying to guage which way ideologically the House caucus is swinging. It seems to have ticked right, but I have no idea what these candidate from New York are about.
You understand ‘Congress’ includes the Senate? Two percent of 535 is how many?
Yep, they all seem to be libs.
Heck, someone dying of thirst will drink from a mudhole.
It would be a great improvement if there were a few Constitutional liberals.
Re: “The author is female.”
Sorry - I thought Shari was a shortened Israeli male name.
What is the math of post 8?
No problem.
I’ve heard “secular Jew” used on PBS NewsHour.
I assumed it had been approved by the Lords of Political Correctness.
I didn’t know the GA AG was Jewish. Jewish Republican in the South outside of FL? Cool.
The Texas House Speaker is a Dewcrist type, I wish he wasn’t Speaker.
But ....
Republicans are Racist! Sexist!
Republicans are Haters!!!! Hate! Hate! Hate!
I know this because CNN told me so ...
Congratulations to all these; may there be many more.
I don't agree. Zeldin voted against the "Marriage Equality Act", the SAFE Act (gun grab) and the NY Dream Act (illegals). He also was Army Intelligence, served in the 82nd Airborne in Iraq, and entered the reserves with the rank of Major. If that's a RINO, then I need to reconsider the term.
