Saw him with Cream as a teenager, then later when he teamed up with Leslie West for West, Bruce and Lang. Both great concerts.

We met Cream (very briefly) in a restaurant near Boston in ‘67.Funny story...my Dad,who was quite old fashioned, asked the waiter who those hairy individuals at a nearby table were.He said he'd check...came back shortly thereafter and said that they were a group called “Cream”.I had heard of them because there was a station in Boston playing their songs.

Cream bassist Jack Bruce dies, aged 71 These days 71 is kinda young. The last time I saw him on TV, probably a couple of years ago, he looked pretty rough. That rock and roll lifestyle is not conducive to longevity, "Live fast, die young".

RIP. Great band
I am still amazed Michael Jackson is dead, and Keith Richards is still with us.

The single most influential band for me in high school. When I began to realize blue rock and blues was the music for me.
Girl I was dating at the time loaned me her Disraeli Gears album. That was it. I also have very fond memories of parking with her when we were supposed to be at the Winter Park Library. I wonder if my parents really bought that hogwash.
Tonight I’ll have a beer and watch the reunion DVD. RIP Jack. Your were the best.

For a rocker, 71 is a good run.

Oh no!
I saw Cream in the late 60’s. That outrageous punchy bass sound was unique to Mr. Bruce.
Great songwriter.
May he RIP.
