A doctor who recently traveled from West Africa has tested positive for the Ebola virus at Bellevue Hospital.
BREAKING NEWS - INFORMATION BELOW WILL BE UPDATED SHORTLY
Sources have identified the patient as Dr. Craig Allen Spencer, 33, who was working with Doctors Without Borders and recently returned from overseas. He was transported through the city's EMS system and was tested for possible Ebola-like symptoms. He tested positive Thursday night.
He is an American citizen, and sources say he arrived on Brussels Airlines Flight 501 from Brussels to JFK Airport on October 17. His flight history originated in Guinea. Spencer returned within the last 10 days.
Doctors Without Borders says he had contacted their office on Thursday morning to report having developed a fever. He had been self monitoring, as per Doctors Without Borders guidelines, quarantining himself. He had 103 fever and gastrointestinal problems when he was taken to the hospital from his apartment on West 147th Street in Hamilton Heights at 11:52 a.m.

Or did he feel OK until his fever began overnight and spiked this morning?
Let’s be careful not to blame the victim, particularly one who has been on the front lines.
And Senator Chucky Smucky also said that NY hospitals are much better prepared than those in Texas?
Air Ebola, the only way to die. (Rhymes with fly, as in the old commercial. Never mind, that is in bad taste.)
Fly the hemorrhagic feverish skies of Brussels Airlines.
All flights must stop now. And unlike stupid liberals think, we can look at passports and see a person’s previous itinerary, even if a round about way was taken out.
You always gown first. These people are morons.
That is really really frightening.
There should be strict protocols in place.
No don’t stay home. Call me germophobic but I would want a personal plastic enclosure if I came home from an Ebola zone, to keep myself sealed off from infecting other people. I don’t care if I had symptoms or not, I am a good father and a good husband, and I wouldn’t want anyone with a disease like Ebola anywhere near my infant son and toddler daughter.
I am surprised they aren’t wearing hazmat suits.
I agree. It sounds like he took quick action. Sounds like his chances are good as a result.
No it isn’t.
President Ebola 2009-2017?
I feel the same way.
For some reason these exposed people are in deep denial and are going out in very public places filled with people.
ROFL that was my first thought. Perhaps a future Obola Figurine or The Obola Pose =]
“quarantining himself.
Is that the new term for going to the bowling ally?”
*******************************************************************************************************
Hey, as long as nobody else used any of the bowling balls he was using, everything is OK. Unless, of course, he rented shoes -— then as long as nobody subsequently rented those shoes. And as long as he wasn’t sweating, etc., etc.

She may be, because she has just finished showing off how well she's protected under her blue apron. She must be sweating buckets underneath all that!!!
Meanwhile the other dude is well ventilated wearing unprotected sneakers and his normal pants. Disregard his naked neck and scalp. Ebola shmebola, it won't catch that dude LOL
Dangerous morons. This was a photoshoot staged for the press. If my NYC hospital experiences from many years ago are any clue to what's happening today, about half of this equipment will actually get worn when they see their Ebola patient. (I thought the running shoes were a nice touch. When the Ebola victim sprays blood, diarrhea and bloody diarrhea all over him, not only can he become infected himself, but he can track Ebola all over NYC on his way home!)
:) Good one.
