A man who said he was having trouble with his car convinced Kenneth Byrd, age 67, to open his door. His wife and 19 year old granddaughter were at home at the time.
That was all the opportunity the three man home invasion crew needed. The trio burst into the home, guns drawn and threatened the residents.
According to local media reports, what happened next was nothing short of terrifying:
The Byrds were pushed to the back of their home and instructed to open a safe.
When the men tried to rape the couple’s granddaughter, Byrd grabbed a gun and exchanged shots with the assailants, [Sheriff Kenneth Sealey] said.
The men fled in Byrd’s car.

Well I’m glad everything turned out OK but if I saw those 3 pigeon poops on my front stoop I would be getting my gun and dialing 911. Opening the door would not be an option.
There is a guy in our little stretch of the woods that has a half dozen or so wolf dogs that have free run of his property at night.
For some reason he has never had any stranger problems.
Dunno if it was strong armed or the nicest one asks then the other two barge in?? No idea but good question they looked nasty. Maybe they answered the door and pushed in...all I can think . But no, I would not let those guys in unless I didn’t have a weapon handy and they took me by surprise. I wonder what the true story is or if the guy kindly allowed them to enter as the report states.
