Grandfather is Shot, but Shoots 3 of 3 Home Invaders Who Tried to Rape His Granddaughter, Killing 1

A man who said he was having trouble with his car convinced Kenneth Byrd, age 67, to open his door. His wife and 19 year old granddaughter were at home at the time.

That was all the opportunity the three man home invasion crew needed. The trio burst into the home, guns drawn and threatened the residents.

According to local media reports, what happened next was nothing short of terrifying:

The Byrds were pushed to the back of their home and instructed to open a safe.

When the men tried to rape the couple’s granddaughter, Byrd grabbed a gun and exchanged shots with the assailants, [Sheriff Kenneth Sealey] said.

The men fled in Byrd’s car.

I grew up in a house where the front door locked with an old fashion skeleton key.
They were for sale to anyone at the Five and Dime store for 10 cents.

In a part of town near where I live, when it's winter, folks pull up to the (small) grocery store and leave their engines running while they go in and do their shopping.

My key/ignition switch is so worn that while the truck is running, I can leave it in neutral, set the parking brake, pull my keys out, hop out, lock the doors and head into the store for smokes and coffee.

Teardrop tattoos, generally speaking, were prison tattoos... with a variety of meanings... before adopted by the 99%ers. They could signify a memorial for murdered fellow gang or family members, OR how many times the wearer was raped while in prison.

Tattoos/brands are marks of ownership... for slaves, livestock, and prison bitches.

A couple of weeks ago a homeowner shot at a kid who invaded his home. His family was with him. Rather than shoot the kid he fired his gun into a wall to scare him. The kid ran. Later he was arrested and charged with child endangerment and sentenced to 20 years in prison.
