He's finished.

He never even made it as far as the starting line. (Except in his own mind.)

If Gov. Chris “Krispy Kreme” Christie doesn't think Ebola is a serious threat, why doesn't he volunteer to treat patients suffering from a disease with a 70-80 percent death rate? This guy should have been Dear Leader's VP instead of that idiot, Joe Biden.

I guess he must have got his marching orders from Obama’s Ebola Czar.

“Christie: WH taking Ebola threat ‘extraordinarily seriously’...”

Come on, let's keep it real. Whatever you think about Christie, He did not say anything about the White House. He said his NJ administration. This is purposely misleading and is usually something the lefties do. Let's not mislead our own. Keep it true to your fellow FReepers.

they're treating it as a PR problem, nota threat to public health

It's like a scene right out of JAWS where the town leaders didn't want to frighten the tourists.

It didn't end well.

I'm not reassured. They really don't know how people get Ebola and why it went pandemic. Do they really know these cured people won't get it back?

Is there a school one attends to become a dumba$$?
Because they seem to be coordinating their efforts?

What is it about irrational behavior which causes it participants to accuse the rational of hysteria?

Yes I read it. Christie did NOT say the WH was taking ebola seriously. the headline was wrong.

And his statement mirrored the Obama stance, Baghdad Bob style. Ergo the ‘wrong’ headline was in fact accurate.

“New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is urging calm on Ebola, warning elected officials against “stoking hysteria” about the virus.”

I believe in being rational. On any issue, first gather the relevant facts. Then analyze those facts based on either scientific or logical principles (or both). Then, and ONLY then, come to a fact-based and well-reasoned conclusion.

In this particular case, a bunch of government officials (Fatty just being the latest) have basically said, “Don’t worry, this is no big deal, we have this taken care of.” Presumably by TOP MEN.

Yet, every single thing that they’ve told us is WRONG! Here’s a list: http://raconteurreport.blogspot.com/2014/10/welcome-to-oppositeville.html

Further, saying that only 3 people had it in this country (aside from those brought in purposely for treatment) is stupid beyond belief. This kind of “reasoning” (if you can call it that) evidences a fundamental inability to understand 6th grade arithmetic - specifically, exponents. Here’s a better explanation: http://raconteurreport.blogspot.com/2014/10/risk-assessment.html The operative paragraphs from that analysis appear below:

“The way to look at Ebola isn’t “Hey, it’s only killed XXXX people so far, so my odds are one-in-a-million (which right now, worldwide, is exactly what they are).

Because in six months, your new odds may be more like one-in-four-thousand.

In six more months after that, they could be one in sixteen.

And three months after that, 9 out of 10 you’re dead.
Numbers and time aren’t on your side.

We can’t breed people fast enough to get numbers on your side. If the earth’s population doubled, we’d only buy three more weeks at the back end. That’s the power of an R-naught of 2 and logarithmic growth. It’s why Albert Einstein once replied that the greatest power on earth was “compound interest”. Ebola is compounding at a return of 100% for just about every 3 weeks so far.

Just like with fire, you can’t choke it by giving it more fuel. But you can suffocate it, or take the heat away.

Cooling Ebola off requires taking people away from the heat of the virus. And what works for that, since forever, is keeping people away from the virus. Contain it where it is, and keep infected people away from uninfected people. That means absolute isolation, travel bans, and quarantines. It’s the only thing we have right now that works, and it’s also the only thing thing the idiots in charge refuse to consider, with the thoughtless stubbornness of the offspring of horses and donkeys.”

Krispy Kreme has lumped himself in with the offspring of horses and donkeys.

Why? I don’t know, but I suspect that he doesn’t want panic, yet he doesn’t have any trust that if he (or someone else in authority, preferably an infectious disease specialist) actually explains what we know or don’t know, that the average person will understand. That fundamental lack of trust in his constituents is, to me, unforgiveable - as is his failure to LEAD.
