Here in the Dallas-Fort Worth area where I live, the Ebola outbreak is very much a local issue. Playing tennis with some buddies this morning, I remarked during a break: "can you imagine what a disaster this Ebola thing must be for Texas Presbyterian? Who's going to want to go there? The whole hospital could go out of business!"
Pretty obvious, no? It would be akin to the financial disaster that would ensue for a restaurant if someone who dined there died of food poisoning. Well, obvious to you and me, perhaps. But not to Ed Schultz. On his MSNBC show this afternoon, Schultz repeatedly blamed the profit motive for the hospital's shortcomings.

Chip in to send Schultz to Econ 101? Ping to Today show list.
Who is that guy?
The Democrat talking points seem to be “budget cuts” and “for-profit hospitals”. I have heard both in conversation.
I wonder what the stupid fat bastard thinks of the government run CDC....
Even better, send his lard ass to Liberia.
If he doesn’t die from Ebola, they’ll just eat him.
At least THIS Schultz was honest about it.
I am not sure why liberals cannot understand that the profit motive and the premium care motive are intertwined.
I don’t think anything Ed’s said has made sense for years
Penny, liberals are morons. What? Call me in the morning. They’ll still have minds of a child. A dumb child.
If it was all about money they would have shipped his worthless, lying, ass to a public hospital and saved money and a lot of grief in the process.
FOAD you fat F**k
You would think every medical situation had been worked out in advance, but reality doesn’t work that way.
One guy, and literally hundreds if not thousands of hospitals, and this guy winds up in theirs.
It isn’t all that surprising that they weren’t ready.
I’ll bet a lot of other hospitals are scrambling now.
The not-for profit CDC has repeatedly dropped the ball on this. What’s their excuse?
yeah, we opened up the disaster room last night.
Or better yet send him over to be treated in a hospital in Cuba. Or even a visit to the old Soviet Serbsky Institute. No profit motive to worry about in those places.
Ed Schultz has a profit motive himself. I don’t see him eating government cheese.
Good. Developing a good response is a wise idea considering.
I honestly think they’re probably going to guide these cases to certain better prepared medical centers.
That seems the way to go.
And what is your excuse for your Ahem, shortcomings..???
PROFIT MOTIVE??
The Hospital was working on an Uninsured foreign national.
They KNEW this was going to cost them big bucks, yet they did it anyway, and spent at least 1/2 million bucks.
MUST SAVE THE MESSIAH AND THE DEMS, any way they can.
Puh leeze
