Democratic Senator Mary Landrieu has edged slightly ahead of Republican Congressman Bill Cassidy in Louisiana’s nail biter of a Senate race, but Cassidy holds a wide advantage if the race goes to a runoff.

Landrieu now picks up 41% of the vote to Cassidy’s 38% in the latest Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey of Likely Louisiana Voters. Another Republican, Tea Party favorite Rob Maness, earns 14% support, while two percent (2%) prefer one of the other candidates in the race.

Mary and her family can’t get her to 50.1%

“frickin tea party....I mean they’ve done good things but they are handing races to the rats.....
glad I never gave them a cent nor do I ever intend too unless they start showing some smarts and patriotism...”

Bingo. The Tea Party has been taken over by Libertarians.

I fully agree. However, all bets are off if this particular election holds the balance of power in the senate. She will get massive help that she never dreamed of.

Nail biter ? Hardly. No one is anywhere near 50%, so it goes to a run off between Landreau and Cassidy. Cassidy wins that one handily unless the mediawhores manage to destroy him I between.

It does matter if one candidate gets a >50% majority.

I’d support Maness, but if he can’t edge up into the mid 20s asap, he really
needs to step aside and endorse Cassidy. I’d rather put this to bed in November.

************

There are nine candidates on the ballot, 5 Dems, 3 GOP, 1 Lib. Granted most won’t
get a lot of votes I suspect this is definetly headed to a runoff on Dec. 6.

That could be true if it goes to a runoff on Dec. 6. At that point all other democrat
operatives have completed their campaigns are are available to help Mary if the powers
that be so choose to use them.

The GOP-e seems to be sinking in several states. I heard today that Nunn was ahead of Perdue in Georgia, and at one time I believe that was a lock for the GOP.

If the dems retain control of the Senate, Reid and 0bama will fell vendicated and all hell will break loose.

No, the Maness voters will not sit it out, they want her gone.
++++
Hope you are right. We need that seat and we need her gone, gone, gone.

The Tea Party has been taken over by Libertarians.

And the GOP has been taken over by gun grabbing, baby killing, chameber of commie faggots.

You must support faggoty baby killers, because you sure don't support Conservatives.

“And the GOP has been taken over by gun grabbing, baby killing, chameber of commie faggots.”

No it hasn’t. You lie and exaggerate as to the Republican Party. Hardly any of them are gun grabbers. Most are against abortion, and hardly any are faggots. Obviously you must be a Libertarian as you doth protest too much, which means you are one half Democrat on the social issues like most Libertarians. Unusual for someone talking about baby killers and faggots. But the way you jump to Libertarians’ defense indicates you are one. But rave on if you get off on it.

Maness should not be running, he has absolutely no chance to place higher than a very distant third.

Really? We can’t field good conservative candidate with the goal of picking up more conservative seats? He has every right to be in there. The other guy isn’t anything special.

Unless he closes in, he probably needs to step aside. He needs to get into the 20s asap and have the funding to make a play for #2 or he shouldn’t stay. I’d rather not deal with a runoff post November where the Democrats dump massive resources to save Landreiu. It’s possible they would pull it off.

Really?

Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw, not really. I was only kidding. I actually think some random guy (from Indiana or so I hear) with no record and not enough financial resources, who *says* he's a "tea party conservative" running against a conservative Congressman (with the record to prove it) is a GREAT idea. It's absolutely wonderful that he'll get 15% of the vote and give Landrieu a stay of execution, positively delightful, not a ridiculous travesty at all.

This one will most likely head to runoff. Mary is one senator that totally needs to go. She has screwed things up enough.
