The city of Tulsa, Oklahoma, punished one of its own veteran police commanders for his refusal to attend a Muslim religious service being held at a mosque he said practiced radical Islamic dogma, according to court records. He also "dared" to refuse to order his officers to visit a mosque he alleges has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.

I fully agree with you.
BUT - if the officer was Muslim and asked to go to a Christian service, he’d be likely to have all kinds of lawsuits and support, to the effect that he was being asked to do things that might offend him, or that the PD was not “sensitive” enough or along that line... JMHO
Have you ever been told to break the law? Commit a crime? Engage in some illegal activity?
Did you do it? I don’t know you you have any spiritual or moral convictions, but I’ll assume you do. There are lines that you won’t cross, right?
This police officer was told to cross a line. He apparently is a man of conservative principles and he stood firm in his convictions.
God bless him.
However, when you take a job you are subject to their guidelines. If my job tells me to go to an event, I go. If not, I can quit or accept the punishment.
It looks like now once you signed up to a government style position, you are bought and directed what you can and cannot do to an extreme rendition now a days. I wouldn’t had attended that either. The police departments are infested with political correctness i.e.. dangerous liberalism.
Should of brought his canine and brought some pig ears for it to chew..
He could go in wearing a Jesus! shirt
“Time for some massive law suits.”
I think we are way past that stage.
Time for a lot more people to start questioning what the heck is going on, who is directing all this crap, and discussing legal ways to stop it.
It’s what the Left uses.
Frankly, I think we should have gotten wise to this years go, taking the ACLU to court so many times it couldn’t defend itself against the avalanche.
Bankrupt it. Move on...
Yes, I agree. It’s way past time to fight fire with fire.
I agree, this is a ploy to use our laws against us. I believe the only way to address the issue is by constitutional amendment as that would take the issue out of the hands of all judges and any court in the nation, including the Supreme Court.
The officials that did this should be outed. Names, addresses, phone#, license plates, pictures, etc. This cannot stand in Oklahoma, of all places.
Apparently now there’s a religious test in order to hold a public office.
It could be that the officer never approached the ACLU or Freedom From Religion Foundation. If he did, and they refused, that would be a story in itself.
I too wonder why the mayor or other higher up public officials didn’t offer to attend themselves. Those responsible should be raked over the coals as they are voted out of office and/or discharged from their positions of trust. I so dislike dang hypocrites.
Naw, he should have just brought his Bible and shared the Good News!
Yes, as a matter of fact, I have been told to do things I knew violated the law. I walked away from extremely good paying jobs on two occasions. The hardest part wasn’t standing by my convictions. That was easy. The hardest part was knowing the decision I made wouldn’t just impact my life, but that of my family too. Nonetheless, I made my complaint known to my employer and when the employers refused to back down, I had to back out and leave the company.
From all the cop shows/movies I’ve seen, usually someone higher up is pulling the police chief’s strings.
I would dress up like a gay clown. Big shoes and all!
HONK!
