Officials with the city of Houston, Texas, who are defending a controversial ordinance that would allow men to use women’s restrooms now have demanded to see the sermons preached by several area pastors.
The recent move came in a subpoena from the city to pastors for copies of their sermons and other communications in the city’s legal defense of a “non-discrimination” measure that allows “gender-confused” people to use public restrooms designated for the opposite sex.
A lawsuit challenging Houston’s move alleges the city violated its own charter in its adoption of the Equal Rights Ordinance, which in May designated homosexuals and transgender persons as a protected class.

Are they trying to imply that pastors cannot speak against the ordinance??
The only way to turn this around is a Conservative POTUS with balls.
And to shove the Progressives/Communists/Socialists back 100-years and
Rally Americans back into Patriotism. Mention Patriotism to any Leftist now
days and they'll label you an extremist.
Progressive/Communist/Socialist are not used lightly and are very real.

Not at all. However, TX isnt so pure as you might believe. There are more than enough loonies, just in lower concentrations. outside of the cities.
The funny thing is liberal Democrats in this town are angry at her for many things concerning the “Montrose”, from unmeasured “noise violations” on bars/concert venues without a called complaint, to skyrise apartments (and gentrification), to ending the Westheimer street festival, and now even moving the Gay “Pride” festival downtown.
They thought “Democrat” and “Lesbian” made her special and “good”.
Nope,, don’t even give an excuse. Just tell them they are violating the first amendment and tell them no, never, nyet, not happening no matter what they do. Armed cops, lawyers, etc.
Then start a sermon series about oppressive civil leaders suppressing religious freedom. Feature the local city counselor of your neighborhood, and the mayor prominently as examples of religious suppression and immorality. Televise the sermon on the Public access TV.
Pay an informative and respectful visit to every business that contributed to their campaign. Ask them where they stand. Win in the attack, not on the defense.
Make them feel the heat.
Oh ya...it wasnt pretty. OTOH that doesnt absolve the TX chest beaters either. So, tell me about youre home grown libs. :) When I lived in TN I was told how conservative everyone was. Their defn and mine arent alike. Sure they were loathe to spend their own $ but quoie happy to have the govt to force it from someone(s) else. Same w/ guns. TN liberals just love guns and used them all the time. They just werent that comfortable that I could have them too. I could go on and on but I wont. I sincerely doubt you TX chest beaters are any different. Youre human after all LOL ;)
Why would I believe Texas is “pure”?
Since the ordinance is not a ballot issue, how can their speech be limited? It is not “campaigning”.
I was 12 years old before I realized “damned yankee” was two words.
