Why are the police involved? I thought that some vet or vet school would have the dog and it would be someplace in isolation and they would be testing the dog.
Are they all inept?

Exactly my thoughts
Does no veterinarian want to be around this dog? Not even vet school researchers thru observation?
Creepy

some vet or vet school...Have you seen any indication at all that those handling the crisis are capable of rational thought?

A&M has one of the best vet schools in the country. It’s only a few hours from Dallas. You would think they would be interested in studying the puppy.

I actually thought I read yesterday that A&M vets were in custody.
Now this.

FTA:
Texas A&M veterinary experts are monitoring the dog named Bentley. WFAA learned Tuesday that Dallas police have assigned an officer to guard the dog around the clock.
“There is great concern about how to protect this dog; how to treat this dog humanely while protecting the public,” said Dr. Eleanor Green, A&M’s dean of veterinary medicine.

He’s really cute. I really hope he wasn’t exposed, but you go to think he was.
I don’t think medical providers should be sent home to family and pets.

“Why are the police involved? I thought that some vet or vet school would have the dog and it would be someplace in “
The police protection is on top of monitoring and testing.
Lots of info in the article

I am a rancher and generally not one to get emotional about animals.
That said, the dog is important to study, as they are probably a vector like they are in Africa. So it is important to study it.
Also, this woman is a hero, a casualty of Obama’s idiocy and political correctness — Patient Zero (and anyone else from this part of Africa) should not have been allowed in the USA -— and I have no problem taking heroic efforts while we can) to save a beloved pet of a hero like this nurse.

I absolutely cannot understand the pure evil of letting infected people into our country. I hope her and the dog survive.

Agree completely.

Also, as Obola continues with the "nothing to worry about" approach, it needs to be noted that even if patients manage to survive ebola, their pets apparently will have to be euthanized.
