” Fiscally Conservative GOP”

Now that’s a laugh.

You really think the GOP is “Fiscally Conservative”?

You nailed it.

The guy might just as well be on their payroll, this is such an ignorant idea.

If Ted Cruz can get the nomination, form a good ticket with a sound second, the Huckster would stand a very good chance of defeating him for Hillary.

If Romney gets the nod again, we’re righteously screwed.

If the Huckster goes third party, it could be just as bad.

There are things I like about Huckabee. Sadly, there are things I don’t like about him, so much so that I don’t want him to become president.

This is the turn for a serious well-grounded Conservative to get the nod. If Huckabee can’t grasp that, that alone should cause us to realize he isn’t top level material.

Sorry but I’ve seen no evidence whatsoever they want a Fiscal Libertarian in there.

We have control of the purse strings right now. The House has the sole authority to defund anything they want.

They operate on the GOPe’s whim. Their ideology seems identical.

Where do you get the idea the GOPe wants fiscal Conservancy?

Did they close the borders to stop that financial drain? Have they cut back on Welfare? Have they defunded Obamacare?

If you think about it, I’m sure you’d agree they haven’t exactly broken any ground to save money, unless it’s gutting our military. The GOPe and the House were comfortable with that.

I am with you and Huckabee on this. Being a social conservative and pro 2nd amendment is a must.

OK Huck, Be the first to bolt the RINO Party. Maybe you could 1) Start the Liberty Party long talked about—or the USIP (Us spin off of the UKIP) 2) Join an existing Party like the Conservative or Reform Party, 3) Just go independent. Advise to you Huck, Don’t Run for President! Run for Congress or Senate. You tried to run for the big job and your super religious stand just can’t cut it. Most do not want a preacherman as President (we tried with Carter—remember). Your message can hit solid ground as a Senator or Congressman. Your term as Governor wasn’t that great-—BUT as the first to move out of the GOP might help the 3rd Party come into existence in a real way. Now 3rd Parties are a sort of Protest Place—we need to use UKIP as a template—They are out polling the Tories now—and could become the second most popular party in the UK. The old Canard that 3rd Party means Democrat Victory shouldn’t be seen as a trueism.

This would carry more weight if Suckabee was actually a conservative outside of social issues.

Leaving Gov. Huckabee’s statement aside, I too would stop supporting and voting for Republican candidates if the party were ever to drop its opposition to homosexual marriage or abortion. As a lifelong Republican volunteer, donor, and voter, I firmly believe that it would be better for the country in the long run for a fallen GOP to lose power completely so that it could eventually find its way back to the social principles under which it was founded. If the fiscal and foreign policy wings of the party think they can go it alone without social conservatives, they will soon discover that they were gravely mistaken. I support the entire Republican party platform (and even have helped write a few portions of it), but any party without principles deserves to lose.

“The old Canard that 3rd Party means Democrat Victory shouldn’t be seen as a trueism.”

You are correct it is a canard at the state and local level.
If however, a Huck ran as a third part candidate the Dems going in with 40% of the vote would win a plurality and thus win the electoral college.

If there a are lot of conservative candidates, the conservative vote will be split and the RINO will win. That happened during the last two presidential elections. Sometimes it was even deliberate (the the Fred Thompson candidacy comes to mind).
In addition the Huckster is a pretty marginal “conservative” at best. He won’t be missed.
I like almost anybody better than Obama, but the sad fact is, unless we elect a truly wild-eyed conservative, the ‘Pubbie won’t try to undo the damage Obama is done. Obamacare will stand along with all other crap he has dumped on this country.
If he does try, he’s going to have fight Congress (even if it is Republican) all the way!
And to get our wild-eyed conservative, the field has be very narrow (no more than one or two conservatives) BEFORE the primary.

I beat Huckabee by a couple of years. I quit the party when Mittens was anointed candidate for President. The party no longer represents me and my values.

Got you bested by about 62 years.

(Never was an R but I sure did vote for R's a lot after Carter. Egads! And look what good...)
