Leadership: The former president on whose watch Americans were taken hostage and the mullahs rose to power in Iran gets it right in condemning the current president's failed handling of Syria and the Islamic State.
We've often referred to Jimmy Carter as our worst president. But considering the recent IBD/TIPP poll showed 53% of Americans labeling Barack Obama's presidency a failure in just its sixth year, the incumbent may soon claim the title. It's one thing to make mistakes out of gullibility, quite another to foul up the world out of gross incompetence.
It is said that Carter's presidency literally crashed and burned in the Iranian desert with the failed Desert One Delta Force mission that was sent to rescue our embassy hostages from the clutches of the mullahs he had naively helped to power. But as we have noted, at least Carter tried a rescue, as President Obama failed to do at Benghazi as he rested up for a Las Vegas fundraiser.

Sorry, there is nothing “new” or “noteworthy” indicated when the stupidest person alive comes to the same conclusion that everyone else already did.
Tell you what. Wake me up when Pelosi changes her opinion of 0bama.
I would bank on this and I only hope to live long enough to hear it from Nancy's botoxed, facial sphincter!
Nothing about crazy Nancy is worth waking up for.
Wake me up when the media starts screaming from the rooftops 24/7 that the 0bama regime has damaged the national interests of the United States.
I don’t see this as a loss of Carter.
Folks, the Democrat party is distancing itself in the public’s mind, from Obama. Don’t believe a word of it. These are the waning days of an election cycle.
The Democrats are desperate to retain control of the Senate. They’ll do anything to hang on. Carter is being the good soldier here. So is Panetta.
These two aren’t opposed to Obama in any way shape or form. This is all boiler plate Politics 101.
The populace is supposed to buy into the idea that Democrats don’t support Obama’s policies. Since when? LOL, he’s doing exactly what they want him to do.
Lets not forget that John McCain is his biggest buddy. Obama supplied weapons and funding to al Qaeda in Syria, just as McCain and Graham urged him to do.
None of these idiots think he has done anything wrong to this point.
For a guy who was a total fail as president, he has spent the rest of his life trashing others who got the job.
Carter may or may not have been the worst president... that could be debated. But there is no debate that he has been the worst former president. He is a sanctimonious little prick.
IBD EDITORIAL PING
I know Jimmah is like 90 and surely had cataract surgery in both eyes, but in recent story they had a picture of him and all I could see was a dead, soulless stare from him.And you know what, no matter how much time he puts into Habitat or rambles about the Bible, that is exactly how I think of him.
Democrats do not give us leaders. They give us figureheads with a gift for gab.
Don’t be deceived. Obama has not lost Carter.
Carter has a grandson, iirc, running for governor of Georgia. Nunn has a daughter running for Senator.
Carter is astute enough to know that election year politics demands false posturing as a conservative.
IBD EDITORIAL PING
It all depends how you define “worst”.
In terms of sheer failure, it’s Carter (and that includes Obama SO FAR) or maybe James Buchanan.
In terms of damage done to the country, it’s unquestionably FDR (and that includes Obama).
And yet I want to say Obama is worse than any of them.
“0bama regime has damaged the national interests of the United States.”

Amazing understatement, are you British? That is like referring to the Grand Canyon as noticeable erosion.
The glaring commonalities all of the POTUS candidates considered as “the worst” are all RATS. Possibly more damning than that is they span different centuries, proving s*** is s***, no matter when.
If Jimmy Carter believes Obama is a failure it is because Obama isn’t sufficiently “dictatorship” enough for him. Loving and adoring ruthless dictators is what Carter does best.
I might rank LBJ ahead of both of them in terms of damage done to the country, even though LBJ had half the time as FDR to do it (6 years vs. 12 years). 1963-1968 was a horrible disaster for America and we've never recovered from it.
True, the RAT party was always scum, even before they were taken over by socialists and were just elitist agrarian slavery sympathizers. (and anyway, they've been controlled by socialists for at least a century, and probably longer since the William Jennings Bryan wing of the Dems took over the party in the 1890s)
But we'd be much more effective at pointing out the RAT party's eternal record of failure if we didn't have useful idiots on our side repeating the MSM propaganda about how the Democrats were "REALLY the conservative party prior to the 60s and 70s, when the two party's switched sides". Puke.
You could argue that. So I guess I misused "unquestionably" ;p.
