Syrians are already asking why were bombing ISIS but not stopping Assads attacks on them. Good question.
The airstrikes and other actions President Obama is taking against Islamic State deserve bipartisan support. They are beginning to degrade the terrorist group, also known as ISIS, but will not destroy it, for one reason above all: The administration still has no effective policy to remove Bashar Assad from power and end the conflict in Syria.
Administration officials have called their approach ISIS first. As for Mr. Assad, in the words of Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs, the administration will defer that challenge into the future. This is not a luxury we get to choose. And Mr. Obama himself recently said he does recognize the contradiction in his own policywhich is that by confronting Islamic State but not Assad, the U.S. may unintentionally benefit the ruler whose ouster he continues, rightly, to demand.
Unfortunately, this is not the only self-defeating contradiction in the administrations Syria policy.

To Defeat Islamic State, Remove Obama.
That’s like saying to defeat Hitler, remove Stalin.

Assad is the only thing standing between ISIS total slaughter of the Christians
You John McCain are speaking traitorously
I am embarrassed I voted for you
Active Duty ping.
My take. Kill all combatants. Let the ladies sort it out. (including Graham and McCain)
Of these clowns, McInsane & Linda? No thanks. I shouldn't have clicked on the thread, let alone the link.
Michael Savage has been proven correct. This entire thing is a charade to take out Assad.
With ISIS within a couple miles of Baghdad, what sense do you think it makes, for General Dynamics, Northrup Grumman, Halliburton, News Corporation, and the Wall Street Journal.
It is peculiar how a couple of months ago, no one could tell you whom the ISIS were, now suddenly they’re the Greatest Threat Ever.
Throwing out a principality and instituting regime change, without careful thought on who takes over, is not just an exercise in futility but also an act of folly. McCain fully believes Assad has to go, and someone believes that the 'moderate' rebels will respect the rights of religious minorities (Christians, Allawites, etc) in the country ....yet what we have SEEN (not heard from McCain and his ilk ....seen) is raping of nuns, beheading of children (girls as young as 6 after they were ganged ...bet you haven't seen that in the media), and mass slaughter of any men not towing the Jihadi rope.
Regime change (without a long term view on replacement) is a farce in that entire region.
“My take. Kill all combatants. Let the ladies sort it out. (including Graham and McCain)” — haha
and when the IS takes control of Syria after Assad is gone why McCain and Graham will be soooo shocked!
Can we strap these two savants into a couple of blue barrels and drop them on Syria from a B 1 bomber at 30,000 ft?
I am of the belief that many in our government are in the pay of the Saudis, McCain for sure.
Given that it was McCain, I should have included Raytheon (aka Hughes Tuscon).
And with Lindsay Graham I should have included Lockheed-Martin. I don’t follow who owns whom in that business like I once did.
Yes, war is profitable for many and defense contractors need a war every decade or so to keep the gravy train going. Ask Sen. Feinstein, she and her husband make big bucks from war. And who pays the price? Our troops who are used like pawns. I’m not anti-war. I’m anti-stupid war. None of our politicians have the guts to do what needs to be done, so we will keep repeating failed strategies.
You have a great point- however, I never heard anything about Al Queada, crucifying people. These guys seem pretty depraved.
So, what's the plan?
Neocons arm islamofascists wherever they find them.
If there are none, they import them and then prop them up.
ISIS = IISS = $
They offed Gaddafi because he interfered with their maniacal plan to turn entire ME into Islamofascist caliphate. Under their control, the arms from Libya stockpiles went to arm Hamas and newly created ISIS. Nothing new - British Empire invented Wahhabism and Gamma Islamiya (Muslim Brotherhood).
When neocons failed miserably to attack Syria openly and their "opposition forces" made of AQ and other assorted scum failed to topple Assad, they stepped up efforts to create ISIS/ISIL/ and attack Syria under the smokescreen of bombing ISIS/ISIL.
Average voter has Florida temperature IQ and can not show Syria on the map, let alone understand what is going on.
Amen to that. What galls me is that we're broke and these guys want to go shopping, all the while pontificating about "thrift."
