Some Blacks See Secret Service as Flawed Shield for the President

Representative Elijah E. Cummings of Maryland was at the grocery store the other day when he ran into an elderly black woman who expressed growing concern about President Obama’s safety. Why, she asked, wasn’t he being better protected by his Secret Service agents?

The furor that led to this week’s resignation of the director of the Secret Service resonated deeply among blacks, outraged that those supposed to be guarding the first black president were somehow falling down on the job — and suspicious even without evidence that it may be deliberate.

“It is something that is widespread in black circles,” said Representative Emanuel Cleaver II of Missouri, who like Mr. Cummings is an African-American Democrat who has been approached repeatedly by voters expressing such a concern....

Do these dumb Democrats not realize that Obama was nowhere near the White House when this happened? If he were, his entire Secret Service contingent would have been there and this likely wouldn’t happen.

There’s no racial bias in protecting the leader of the free world. The professionals in the Secret Service would still take a bullet for Obama, whether he selected an incompetent to run the department or not and whether they voted for him or not.

I think the problem is in the screwed up leadership this administration has allowed to rise to the top in this and almost all of its other agencies . Including the military . It’s NOT that the individual Secret Service agents, in large part, are incompetent, but it’s the feckless “leadership”, up to and including the Golfer-In-Chief that allow these gaffs to take place. His vetting process must only take into account unspoken loyalty to him and his left-wing agenda over MERIT, PROFESSIONALISM, EXPERIENCE, and COMPETENCE in every selection he’s made for his cabinet and other important positions of leadership. From the FEMALE (affirmative action?) S.S. agent that was overpowered in the White House, to the incompetent FEMALE selected as the director of the S.S. (what IS it with him and his selection of hard-core leftist, apparently, butch lesbians (Kagan, Sotamayor, EPA twit, etc.) to positions of power? The same goes with his selection of black Socialists/Communists like Van Jones and, apparently,Jeh Johnson and Eric Holder. It’s all about advancing his Socialist/Communist ideology and agenda, and having blindly loyal cronies and sychophants to carry out his dirty work (Fast & Furious to generate more gun control, IRS to target & harass political dissidents, etc.) with little or no direction from him. If a woman, or a black man, or a black woman, or WHOMEVER is vetted to be the BEST, based on PROVEN MERIT, then, by all means, give them the job.
