There must be 100 million bats in the Austin area.

WHY IS THE U.S. EVEN ALLOWING ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN TO WEST AFRICA TO COME HERE???

Remember the FBI informant who said the Weather Underground wanted to wipe out 25,000,000 people in the United States? And that was in the ‘60’s!!! Who was Obama friends with???? Hmmmm????

“So what’s at the heart of Pianka’s claim?

6.5 billion humans is too many.

In his estimation, “We’ve grown fat, apathetic and miserable,” all the while leaving the planet parched.

The solution?

A 90 percent reduction.

That’s 5.8 billion lives - lives he says are turning the planet into “fat, human biomass.”

He points to an 85 percent swell in the population during the last 25 years and insists civilization is on the brink of its downfall - likely at the hand of widespread disease.

“[Disease] will control the scourge of humanity,” Pianka said. “We’re looking forward to a huge collapse.” “

Pianka is a SICK SICK SOB

Huh? I didn’t post about the flight. I posted that he went to a hospital which released him after he already had symptoms. If this guy is patient zero and it grows exponentially from here, we have that mistake to thank.

That depends on many factors, starting with the viral load on the doorknob (sweaty hand/dry hand, etc.), then whether the doorknob is exposed to direct sunlight (UV kills Ebola), and finally on how long since the victim touched the doorknob. More than 2-3 days and you are safe unless there has been ice hanging on it the whole time.

It was telling that they could not answer that question directly?

Q: “Is he an American?”

A: “He is here visiting family”

That does not ANSWER the question! (and yet it does)

“Fox News reporter just said that they are awaiting results from another person in Maryland who may have it.”

Crap! Good thing I ordered some anti-viral face masks.

Why would anyone go into that hot zone now?

And why do we let them back here without a 21 day layover in a medical facility.

There’s a great joke there, but if I say it on FR, the secret service will come after me. Oh, wait, they’re incompetent...

“Wouldn’t it be nice if they gave us real information instead of just telling us not to worry.”

It has been and will be the same advice we have and will hear from the FNC group of Doctors. No Worries!

Zero airline risk is BS. That Patrick Sawyer guy infected the doctor sitting next to him, who subsequently died. If the incubation period can vary from 7 - 21 days they really have no reliable indicator of when he became contagious.

Patient in West Africa contracted it via doorknob, so yes.

Look up fomites.

He wipes his sweaty (sweat is a body fluid) forehead, then grabs the doorknob. A couple minutes later someone grabs same doorknob and a few second later rubs his nose with fingers or rubs his eye.

What causes Ebola?

Ebola is caused by infection with Ebola virus.

Symptoms of Ebola

The incubation period for Ebola is between 2 to 21 days. The beginning symptoms of ebola are: by fever, headache, joint and muscle aches, sore throat, and weakness, followed by diarrhea, vomiting, and stomach pain. A rash, red eyes, hiccups and internal and external bleeding may also occur.

How is Ebola virus spread?

Researchers do not know exactly how Ebola is spread. However, they have strong reason to believe that the first patient becomes infected through contact with an infected animal.

The Ebola virus is then spread from human to human by:
•direct contact with the blood and/or secretions of an infected person.
•contact with objects, such as needles, that have been contaminated with infected secretions.

How is Ebola treated?

There is no standard treatment for Ebola. Patients receive supportive therapy. Types of supportive therapy are: balancing the patient’s fluids and electrolytes, maintaining their oxygen status and blood pressure, and treating them for any complicating infections.

E.g. months after recovery in sperm.

That is virus but not necessarily viable virus. If it were viable the patient wouldn't still be surviving.

The planes are NOT cleaned that well. My kid sat in a plane to Hawaii that someone had defecated in. It was NOT cleaned up before she sat in it.

Not sure how many of these are frequent, but the cleaning of the planes after every flight? Not on your life.

As if ebola isn’t scary enough, what bothers me even more is how this situation is going to be exploited by the Obama administration.

We can all be certain that every word that comes from the WH on this topic will be a lie. If Obama can use this to screw with Texas commerce, or Texas elections, Texas growth, or anything positive coming out of Texas, guarantee he will do just that. Now that King Obama has *cover*,,I am concerned he will use whatever manipulations he can to tweak this serious situation into some personal political gain.

Makes me sick to think about it.
