Followed by the Eat Your Peas Act (which would be redundant for those of us who have some level of intelligence)

“Seattle deserves Seattle.”

That’s a fact. I utterly loathe the place.

"I bet if this B.S. ordinance is allowed to exist, then you will see a slow exodus to leave the city."

Maybe. More likely people will just drive to the city outskirts and dump their trash on a country road.

Oh no... that is prohibited. Dumping is illegal. Throwing it away in the garbage is illegal. Allowing somebody that wants it is illegal. Pay your fines, and shut up.

If they incentivise the collector with a percentage of the fines I’ll bet they could get 100% issuance.

The new rules would allow garbage collectors to inspect trash cans and ticket offending parties if food and compostable material makes up 10 percent or more of the trash.

Where I live we use trash bags and leave them a plastic bin on the street line.

One day I was waiting to leave my driveway when the garbage guys came along. One guy jumps out, hooks something to the plastic bin, and up it goes and its contents are dumped into the truck. And off they go to the next house.

Opening up the bags (watch out for the kitty litter!) and doing the math to levy a one buck fine won't offset the costs of new employees and trucks, which will be needed when trash collection will mean fifteen minutes at each stop!

Once again liberals prove they are bone stupid when it comes to business.

Pay taxes and fees. Pay more taxes and fees. And then pay fines when you do not comply with the agreements when you fall out of scope with the agreement when you paid the fees to do business.

Move somewhere else, but leave your liberal voting record behind, when you find something that works.

So... what’s to stop somebody from saving all their food scraps and dumping them in a neighbor’s garbage can?

What about the guy who turns his food scraps into the compost pile? How do you monitor that?

SO completely unenforceable.

Composting is going to be regulated soon. I can’t wait to read the 570 pages to comply with the new law.

Catch 22 for restaurants. They have to throw out food but can be fined for doing so.

Not a problem. The city will merely station enforcement officers (union members, of course) in every restaurant to make sure that patrons eat every thing on their plates, just like mommy used to do.

Isn’t the food going to be inside garbage bags?

Are they going to tear the bags open to look for food?

Insinkerator sales are going to go into overdrive.

You won't find a plumber anywhere who thinks a garbage disposal is a good idea.
