Thanks for the feedback. Looking over this thread, few people are aware of that. Even the title of this thread starter ignores the ramifications of his guilty plea. Look at how many think he was convicted not that he plead guilty. And sadly, that included me.
Seeing as how McCain/Feingold was a RINO/Dem bipartisan effort, you can see why I that coalition lives the SKUNC acronym. They are simply anti-constitutional, and Dinesh just gave them a precedent they did not deserve. While it is hard to condemn any man for not being a sacrificial lamb, he most certainly does not deserve the label of hero.
“Because in the process of teaching English he can use some our most cherished values and work ethic as examples.”
For starters he can teach his students about ‘Lex, Rex’... “the Law is King”. Presbyterian divine Samuel Rutherford wrote that book in the 1600s. It’s about the rule of law, limited government and constitutionalism.
And professor D’Souza can use himself as an example of someone who didn’t believe that the law is king, who believed that political expediency justified him ignoring the rules. It should make for an entertaining class.
If he is smart - with his money - hire good lawyers and appeal and appeal and appeal ... It has been said that Justice delayed is Justice Denied ... I say in modern America Justice Delayed is JUSTICE.
Dinesh D’Souza pled guilty to the charges. He admitted that he broke the law. He doesn’t get to appeal his own guilty plea.
Yep - I believe he was put in the exact right situation.
*Funny* how things work - - -
Thanks for your service - in the classroom.
Pouring outside where you are while we are in official drought.
Meant to identify Ventura County as being in California.
Thank for your the clarification ... I didn’t know he pled... I just read the sentence...
Berger was fined $50,000, placed on probation for two years and stripped of his security clearance for three years.”
Yep. A patriot sees an unconstitutional law, then willfully breaks it for the purpose of gaining standing in court with the intention of getting the law overturned by court ruling.
Doubly so if he suspects that he will be sought out for selective prosecution (as D’Souza says).
What do you label it when the law-breaker decides not to fight, but to plead guilty as charged?
Whaat, they didn't impose the "you must slobber and grovel before Obama's statue" rule?
Dinesh DSouza on Sentencing: There Was All-Out Attempt to Put Me Away
Bad news, Dinesh .... if they'd won that one, you'd have ended up dead. They'd have killed you in prison.
Such as charging him with a crime for doing what his opponents do all the time.
