Education School tells Missouri boy his 9/11 souvenir violates school weapons policy

A souvenir shell casing handed out by veterans at a 9/11 ceremony landed a seven-year-old Missouri boy in hot water when he took the keepsake to school.

Sherry Falke said her son, Zane, forgot he had the souvenir in his pocket when he showed up for class on Tuesday, Fox4KC.com reported. The boy was given the souvenir at a Sept. 11 memorial ceremony in Carrollton, Mo.

"He felt it in his pocket, and he took it out and was showing some of his friends at school," Falke told the station.

"The principal proceeded to reprimand him as though he were bringing live ammunition to school," she said. "I understand that's in the policy, in the handbook, that they can’t bring guns to school. I fully support that, but it's an empty blank casing."

Falke said her son's teacher seized the shell casing and took him to the principal’s office. She claims they Zane he could be suspended from school for 10 days, but instead gave him a silent lunch where he sat by himself and missed two recesses.

>>This is called a cartridge...<<

No, a cartridge is a loaded casing. It includes the primer, powder and bullet.

You know that game some people like to play where they write back to the Nigerian scam artist and try to get them to respond over about 4 weeks, getting increasingly frustrated until they realize they're being played?

You guys just got played. Rave One is laughing his ass off at whatever commie forum he lives at.

“It’s not a toy and it’s not for kids. The school has no way of knowing where it came from, how it was emptied, or whether it’s been tampered with in some half-assed attempt at reloading. In other words, it’s still potentially dangerous to other students, and that is most definitely the school’s business and their responsibility.”

Raising the BS flag here. Been a shooter since I was four years old. Not bringing ammo/guns/knives/bows/arrows/slingshots et cetera to school is a recent development. Like in my lifetime. A fired shell casing, as that obviously is, especially from a blank shell, which again that obviously is, is NOT A WEAPON. Obviously not tampered with, as well. Get yourself educated on the subject, or keep your opinion to your ignorant self would be my advice. Cure your ignorance, then maybe you might have something useful to say.

Old Student, who is getting really riled at ignorant people trying to tell the rest of us how to behave.

That’s what I told RaveOn...
If you read what I posted, you’ll see that I said the “bullet” fits into the “casing”...It is called a “cartridge”...Sorry I didn’t go all the way and name the charge and the primer for you...

Here is the post I made to RaveOn:

Sorry, but a “bullet” is the lead that fits into the casing...This is called a cartridge...
You really don’t seem to know much about firearms or ammunition...

Wow. You're really sticking with that? Any fool can see it is a spent casing who could handle it for three seconds. This zero tolerance crap needs to be dumped in the dustbin of history. We need to do nothing but laugh at people getting bent out of shap over a spent case.

Really? You bought one from the company who hosts that pic? I’ve been saying for years that companies who get their panties in a twist about hot-linking are just losing business. Too bad for those guys who blocked the pic of cloth belts I put in post #156. No sales here for them!

Old Student, who is getting really riled at ignorant people trying to tell the rest of us how to behave.

That is exactly what I accused him of promoting in post #76.

TigersEye to RaveOn

Put yourself in the school’s place: they probably weren’t gun experts and had know way of knowing that,...

You are arguing that the lowest level of knowledge and intelligence should set the rules of conduct for us all. Very Progressive!

He made the case for that in post after post.
